Queen Elizabeth by no means is looking to slow down anytime soon. In fact, there’s a new report that suggests the word retirement simply doesn’t belong in her vocabulary. The report also suggests the Queen of England plans to work for as long as she still possibly can.
At 92, Queen Elizabeth is still regularly attending her royal engagements and public appearances. In fact, many royal observers have noticed that she hasn’t slowed down her schedule much this past year. That’s because the Queen is not willing to throw in the towel just yet. Some would even say that even though she’s been on the throne for 65 years now, she’s at her peak.
Nick Kent, the executive producer of the new two-part ITV documentary, Queen of the World, recently told Closer Weekly that the Queen is still working as hard as ever. He also points out that she is quite healthy, both psychologically and physically. She still goes out riding on her horses about two or three times a week and enjoys spending time with her family and taking part in her hobbies.
According to Kent, one of the reasons why Queen Elizabeth has managed to stay in power for so long is that she has been able to acclimate to change. He says, “She’s ensuring the future of the monarchy by being open and flexible and adapting. She’s allowing it to rebrand. The Queen is allowing the royal family to modernize. We have come a real long way. They are not stuffy any immovable anymore.”
Now, how long Queen Elizabeth will be able to stay at the top remains to be seen. After all, her son Prince Charles has been waiting for his turn to take the throne for 65 years now. Yet, Queen Elizabeth isn’t willing to waste whatever time she has left to just sit back and relax. Kent added that if there is one thing that the Queen has perfected throughout her years as the leader of the monarchy, is finding the right balance between action and reflection. More often than not, she likes to pause and take stock of what is going on around her.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the report. In the meantime, don’t forget to check back with CDL for all the latest news and updates on Queen Elizabeth and the entire royal family right here.
