The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that one cast member will be taking an extended break from the show. You may have heard by now that Karla Mosley (Maya) is pregnant with her first child. Of course, that means her maternity leave is coming up. Mosley will step away from B&B as she prepares to welcome her new bundle of joy.
In an Instagram video, Mosley made an announcement about her temporary departure. The whole cast will soon be off for a short summer vacation, but Mosley’s break will last much longer. As she wrapped her up last day on set for a while, Mosley wanted to fill fans in and offer her gratitude.
“…I am about the last person here,” Mosley said with a laugh. “I think it’s probably because I’m so sad to leave, but I’ll be back! Everyone’s going on hiatus and then I’ll have a super long hiatus.” Mosley’s grateful for a job she loves and all the viewers who keep the show alive. She added, “Thanks for an amazing year so far and I’ll see you soon, B&B!”
It’s clear that Mosley’s bummed about stepping back from The Bold and the Beautiful, but it’ll undoubtedly be worth it. She’ll eventually get to meet her new little one and explore the brand-new role of Mom. As for Maya’s exit, how will her absence be explained? There are plenty of ways to usher Maya off canvas for her portrayer’s baby break.
Maya’s been feuding with Hope (Annika Noelle) lately, so she may get fed up and quit at some point. She could at least announce that she’s taking a long vacation. Perhaps Maya could go visit Nicole (Reign Edwards) until Mosley’s ready to roll again.
Maya could also be sent out of the country for a lengthy modeling gig. That’d certainly help ease the tension between Maya and Hope. Some distance would be a good thing right now. There’s also a chance that Maya’s behind the website threats. If so, that could lead to a suspension from the company or even a firing.
Once Mosley’s maternity leave is over, Maya could express remorse and come back on board. We can’t rule out a non-exit either. The Bold and the Beautiful often just ignores characters until they need them. No one would be surprised if they took the “let’s just not talk about her” route with Maya.
