The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Hope’s (Annika Noelle) dream of a happy blended family may never become a reality. The two women ended their rivalry over Liam (Scott Clifton) earlier this summer when Steffy removed herself from the competition and literally put an engagement ring on Hope’s finger. But now they’re at odds once again, this time over work.
It was important to Steffy and Hope that they not become like their mothers and be engaged in a endless love triangle over a man. They’ve seemed to accomplish that mission, but almost as soon as they ended their feud over Liam, they started clashing at work. In effect, they transferred their rivalry to a different domain.
And there seems to be fault on both sides. Hope’s upset that Steffy is making executive decisions like using Sally (Courtney Hope) as a designer for the Intimates line and removing Xander (Adain Bradley) from the Hope For The Future (HFTF) line to turn him into a model. But Steffy’s co-CEO and is allowed to make top-level decisions.
On the other hand, Steffy seems to be getting a lot of satisfaction in making executive decisions that harm HFTF, like poaching HFTF employees and interns. One suspects that Steffy is getting a sick joy in sticking it to Hope, as payback for going after Liam.
The point is that there’s fault on both sides in this workplace feud. But the really unfortunate thing is that none of this behavior happens in a vacuum. All the negativity and stress is going to bleed into these women’s personal relationship, and that’s going to make their dream of a peaceful, loving blended family situation unlikely.
Perhaps what Steffy and Hope should do is make a conscious vow to be civil to each other in the workplace, so that they can have a peaceful home life once Hope has her baby and she and Steffy have to start step-parenting each other’s children. It would be nice if Liam could step in and broker such an agreement.
Whatever happens, it seems that Steffy and Hope need to find a way to get along in the workplace.
