Tonight on FOX their new medical drama The Resident airs with an all-new Monday, September 24, 2018, episode and we have your The Resident recap below. On tonight’s The Resident season 2 episode 1 premieres, “00: 42: 30,” as per the FOX synopsis, “n the Season 2 premiere, Chastain Memorial Hospital suffers a blackout that requires the staff to treat their patients without the help of any technology. Bell orders the staff to stop accepting new patients and transfer those on life support, but when a child in need is rushed to the ER, Conrad and Devon go against the mandate.
Meanwhile, Mina and Austin are tasked with performing heart surgery on a premature baby, despite the lack of power, and Nic works to organize the staff and patients.”

Nic and Conrad are at Chastain. Conrad has keys to an office with a shower and a sofa. They meet up for a break as it thunders terribly outside. Conrad gets a 911 page that interrupts them.
Mina meets with her heart patient who has given her flowers. Meanwhile, AJ reassures a father one of his prematurely born twins is going to be fine after surgery to work on her underdeveloped heart. Conrad and Devon meet with the dad to calm him down and check his very high blood pressure. Bell watches the news. Lane is on and she is facing the death penalty. He stares with flat affect at the screen.
Nic meets with a young girl and her older sister who is her guardian. During AJ’s surgery to repair baby Mable the power goes out. The generators start to beep and crash. They are left in the dark.
Conrad takes a look around the NICU to check on the babies. Bell comes out of his office to a bunch of hysterical residents. He seems ready to have a panic attack and snaps out of it, dictating to everyone what to do.
AJ and Mina continue working on baby Mable. Irving and a nurse are stuck in the elevator between floors. Conrad runs into Devon and tells him to go back to ICU. Things aren’t good.
Nic deals with her teen patient who she was diagnosed with a UTI. The older sister wants to see a doctor. Nic assures her she knows what she is doing, she is a nurse practitioner.
Conrad goes to see Bell. Half of the generators are down and they have 36 people on life support. Bell calls for the start of an evacuation.
Mina is getting upset during the surgery because she has no idea what is going on around the rest of the hospital. AJ tells her to focus and not worry about Mica. He has the OR nurse make a call so Mina can focus.
An IT guy comes to see Bell. They are under a cyber attack. It’s not the storm. The IT guy reminds him he has mentioned they needed to upgrade. He tells Bell he should pay the ransom.
Outside the ER, Devon and Conrad see an EMT begging to bring a young boy in with a gunshot wound. One of the nurses refuses to take him, but Conrad insists and works on him in the hall on a gurney.
Albert comes down and yells at Conrad for cutting into the boy he saved. Albert doesn’t have an OR to finish the job. Conrad tells him he can build him one, he used to do it all the time as a doctor without borders. He and Devon get to work.
In the elevator, the nurse starts to hyperventilate. She asks Irving if she can rest her head on his lap. Meanwhile, Conrad defends himself to Bell for cutting into the boy. Bell gets news from the IT guy that the cyber attack is coming from an IP address inside the hospital.
A nurse calls Devon to help her with Mable’s dad who has fallen on the stairs. Devon picks him up and brings him to get a CT scan.
The generator fails in the OR. AJ gives them a pep talk to keep them all going. Meanwhile, Devon figures out that the father of the NICU twins has been having an allergic reaction. He gives him an epi-pen shot and he is fine.
Nic visits the teen girl and her sister and after seeing her on the phone and piecing together that she was in the hospital the last time they had a cyber attack realizes it is the teen girl. She intended to wipe her hospital bill clean but ended up doing more than she realized. She tells Nic she can fix this. The older sister pleads with her not to tell. The younger teen gives a drive to Nic and begs for her older sister not to get in trouble.
Nic goes to tell Bell with Conrad. They try to talk him into not pressing charges. Conrad tries to put a good spin on it. They could look like heroes for making it through the storm. Bell agrees.
AJ and Mina bring baby Mable back from surgery. She is a warrior, Mina tells the parents. They reunite the twins and the other one finally stops crying.
Bell fires his assistant and the IT guy. He calls on Albert to tell him who made the first cut in the ER, him or Conrad?
