The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that the once great couple known as Shick is being teased for revival as Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) departure from Genoa City approaches. Past issues were put behind them and co-parenting has been going well, which pushes the potential for Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) to become a romantic couple once again.
Some will shriek at the sight of both character’s names being mixed with reasonable speculation about their revived relationship. Those drama queens and kings need to take a deep breath, exhale and then slowly continue that process as they read the remainder of this measured feature. All others can proceed as normal, but be prepared to aid the afflicted if need be.
The following soapy facts are undeniable. Sharon and Nick were each other’s true love oh so long ago. The mid-1990’s debuts of Case and Morrow obviously represents successful casting, as both actors are approaching the 25-year mark (come 2019) on Y&R. This duo also has two children Noah (Robert Adamson) and Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind).
Devoted viewers remember that Gina Tognoni’s supplanting of Michelle Stafford stopped Shick, the Sequel in 2014. Sharon and Nick were literally standing at the altar when post-coma Phyllis busted in the all-purpose church doors, dropped news about Summer’s (Hunter King) true paternity. Poof, Sharon and Nick starring as The Couple was over.
Egan’s voluntary departure from the cast isn’t a farewell forever, as this actor advised her followers via social media. Chelsea will therefore, most likely, be written out in an open-ended fashion. However, with whatever her departure becomes, Nick will be devastated and surely vulnerable.
Nick recently tipped Sharon off to Scott’s (Daniel Hall) dalliance with Abby (Melissa Ordway). Sharon told Nick that she would be there if he ever needed her in the future, which was a dialogue tip-off.
It does seem possible that Egan’s departure could mean that Adam’s return will remain on indefinite hold. Yes, it might be a stretch to believe that the supposedly deceased character would be written back in as his wife departs.
Possibly, Chelsea’s death will draw Adam back? But then, how would Egan’s claim that she’ll eventually return to the cast play into that scenario?
With whatever is or becomes true for Chadam, Chick is about to end. Sharon is single and so too will Nick be. Combine the last sentence with all other factors referenced earlier and Shick is primed for a new daytime destiny as TPTB appear to be indicating.
