The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will have to make a painful choice down the road. Y&R has been highlighting the fact that Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Adam (Justin Hartley) are quite different and this will continue on this week’s new Y&R episodes, January 29 to February 2. Chelsea has settled in for a safe, predictable life with her current beau. This isn’t the future she wanted, but it’s the one she’s moving toward now.
Nick’s sweet, but he’s not spicy. Adam, on the other hand, somehow managed to be a bit of both. Deep down, Chelsea craves a little of that bad-boy danger. Perhaps it goes back to her days as a con artist. She didn’t always agree with Adam’s decisions, but she learned to live with them. Adam kept Chelsea on her toes and there was something special about that.
Since Chelsea believes Adam’s gone for good, she’s trying to adjust to her new reality. Chelsea certainly loves Nick, but is she really IN love with him? That distinction may be reserved only for Adam. Once Adam inevitably returns from the dead, Chelsea will find herself in an awkward situation. She’ll be torn between two brothers. The rest of the Newman family may chime in and pick sides.
Victor (Eric Braeden) will undoubtedly be rooting for Adam. He must feel guilty for how everything turned out. It’s Victor’s fault that Adam went through such a terrible ordeal. Even if Adam has stayed away from Genoa City by choice, Vic still set all of this in motion. He may believe it’s his duty to reunite Adam with the love of his life.
Victor hates Nick most of the time anyway. It won’t be hard for him to root against his least favorite son. However, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) may push Chelsea to stand by Nick. The other Newman siblings will have opinions, too. The chaos could lead to another war within the family.
Nevertheless, The Young and the Restless spoilers say this ultimately Chelsea’s decision. She could choose to stay with Nick out of obligation. Chelsea may think she’s making the safe choice for her family, but we all know Adam is who she’d really want.
Luckily, Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity revelation should take care of everything. Once Chelsea’s lies are exposed, Nick may make things simple by walking away. He may wash his hands of Chelsea and start plotting against Adam! We’ll give you updates as other Young and the Restless news comes in.
