The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there’s some comings and goings news to share. For starters, we’ve got updates on a major return. Lauren Woodland will reprise her role as Brittany this month, so everyone’s been waiting to find out her first airdate back. Now there’s confirmation on that. You can expect Brittany to show up starting June 12, so be prepared for drama!
Pat Harvey will also appear as a news reporter pretty soon. She’s a real-life broadcast journalist, so she’ll certainly play her part well. Y&R’s head writer and executive producer, Mal Young, sent out a tweet to make Harvey feel welcome. Young said, “Thrilled to have the @CBSLA icon @Patharveynews join the cast of @YandR_CBS for the day.”
Later, Young acknowledged a different guest star. He gushed, “Another day and another icon as we welcomed the one and only @88DrewPearson to @YandR_CBS Top bloke!” Drew Pearson used to be a successful wide-receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. Eric Braeden made a fun pic with Pearson on set, so it seems he’s a fan!
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Mac DeGennero has scored a role as a physical therapist. He’ll pop up to help a Genoa City resident in need on May 23. Of course, we have to mention the casting news everyone’s been buzzing about. Hunter King is headed back to the CBS soap as Summer Newman starting June 4. It turns out she’s on contract, so she’ll be sticking around for a while.
The Young and the Restless buzz pointed for a recast for a while, but maybe they couldn’t find the right fit. Then again, perhaps they just got lucky and managed to catch King at the ideal time. She’s on hiatus from her CBS primetime show, Life in Pieces. King’s a series regular, but it won’t get in the way of her Y&R duties for now. She’ll be free to stir up trouble as Summer, so some excitement’s brewing.
That’s it for comings and goings! We’ll keep you posted as other Y&R details emerge. Stay tuned to the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates, and news.
