The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, December 21, tease that Nate (Brooks Darnell) will deliver some discouraging updates. Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) condition will remain dire, especially due to MS complications. Nate will suggest that it’s taking Nikki too long to wake up and that’s not a good sign. He’ll fill Nick (Joshua Morrow) in on the grim prognosis and leave him worried.
At Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) place, she’ll fret over Nikki’s drinking. Victoria will wish she’d known before things spiraled out of control, but Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) will insist that she’s not to blame. After receiving a call from Nick, Victoria and Reed will head over to the hospital together.
Over with Sharon (Sharon Case), she’ll check on a distraught Nick. He’ll end up embracing her, which Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will witness nearby. You can bet it’ll stir up jealousy, but Phyllis will try to control that since the circumstance are so serious.
By Nikki’s bedside, Victoria will be sorry she let her mom take on too much. She’ll hate that Nikki had the weight of the world on her shoulders. Reed will want a minute alone with his grandma, so Victoria will grant his request. After Victoria steps out, Reed will get choked up over the hit-and-run accident. He’ll confess that he’s responsible and assure Nikki of his love.
While Reed delivers an emotional apology, Nick will keep seething over the driver. He’ll want the person at fault locked up ASAP. When Nate reappears, he’ll warn them to prepare for the worst. Nate will hope they can get Victor (Eric Braeden) back to Genoa City before it’s too late.
At Dark Horse, Arturo (Jason Canela) will offer Abby (Melissa Ordway) a Christmas present and convince her to attend another Rosales gathering. Thanksgiving was rough, but this will provide another chance to show they’re a strong couple. Kyle (Michael Mealor) will also agree to attend with Lola (Sasha Calle), but he’ll worry about what to wear and how to blend in.
Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) will also invite Sharon (Sharon Case) to this shindig. She’ll tell Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) that she wants to make friends, but she probably just wants to rub their reunion in Sharon’s face. Regardless, Y&R fans can expect some awkwardness. Mia will push Sharon to be her gal pal and gush about feeling like a newlywed again. When Rey speaks with Sharon alone, Mia will quickly butt in.
Over with Kyle, Rey and Arturo will give him a hard time. They’ll gang up on Kyle about his intentions with their sister, but Lola will come to his rescue. Next, the Rosales siblings will reflect on the past. Rey will tell a story about pulling over his mother’s favorite singer and requesting a performance. That’ll lead Mia to recall going skinny-dipping with Rey that night.
Rey won’t remember, so Mia and Arturo will have guilty expressions. It looks like Arturo was Mia’s skinny-dipping partner, not Rey! Once the party’s over, Rey will slip out to give Sharon a keychain. He’ll contend that they never got to take a road trip together, but this gift will honor the thought of it. Rey will want Sharon to know that he still cares about her.
Back with Mia, Rey will return to her and suggest that the night was a success. They’ll follow that with some passionate moments on the couch. Across town, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack (Peter Bergman) will have a shocking Christmas present for Kerry (Alice Hunter). He’ll want to take her on a trip to Bora Bora, but she’ll have to mull it over.
Kerry will finally decide she’s in, so she’ll pack her bags and give Jack the big news. They’ll make love before they depart, so Jack’s getting the romance he wished for.
