The Young and the Restless spoilers documented that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) has been told that she’s put herself in a Buzz Box on The Young and the Restless. With persistence Devon’s (Bryton James) trust can be regained. But should Hilary be forced to look at her life that way?
Yes, Mr. Hamilton has left the door of possibility open. He too would like a second chance at Hevon. That’s why he told Lily (Christel Khalil) that he wasn’t firing Hilary.
Lane came to the Hamilton Winters Group like a semi-detached house on fire. Hmm, this scribe wonders why that pairing has often had troubles with itself? Could it be that Lily and Cane (Daniel Goddard) share an reactionary personality type? Yes.
So, Devon told his sister that he was making a business decision by keeping Hilary within his expanding conglomerate. Lily didn’t like it, as was one-hundred percent predictable, and stormed out, while Cane followed. A self-important breeze shut the door and the scene rolled on.
Hilary is hardly a saint, but let’s consider perspective. Devon was the other half of the duo that wronged Neil (Kristoff St. John) when he was married to Hilary and was, wait for it, blind! Hey Lily, Hilary didn’t cheat on Devon while she was married to him. But you did with Joe (Scott Elrod). And then Cane cheated on you with Juliet (Laur Allen) later in time.
While both women are gorgeous, let’s not pretend for one single, itty bitty moment that a sake-bombed Cane didn’t know that Juliet wasn’t you. He gave into impulse in Tokyo, Japan, and then tried to cover it up for months. Plus, that now-deceased woman became pregnant with and then delivered his baby that you are raising.
Hey Devon, aren’t you holding Hilary to some impossible standard? She’s been doing well for a number of months. So, after learning that she behaved badly months ago, you apply then to now? Come on man. Devoted Hilary fans have been wondering for awhile if Devon is worth her effort, not the reverse. Yes, that’s right, is Devon worth Hilary’s time and energy.
Existing love between each person aside, Devon is no perfect guy. Could his smothering family members be more involved in his personal life? Yes, they could all move into the same house and hold approval power over what he does twenty-four seven.
A Hevon reunion would only work if a different dynamic exists from the second start. Hilary wouldn’t be working her way back to Devon’s good graces forever. Devon wouldn’t be her moral coach indefinitely.
No, Hilary doesn’t need to be seamless at all moments. She just needs to be herself.
If Devon wants to remarry this woman he should evaluate himself, honestly. After doing so, all of the knee-jerk judgementalism will be tossed in from the portfolio that his grandmother, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) handed to him on a silver platter.
Hilary has had to survive during her adult life. Devon hasn’t, he’s been part of an actual family. Instead, he’s simply lived. Yes, Devon can learn from Hilary. And then possibly, if both parties agree, equally, they can reconcile and have a baby, who would surely represent the best parts of each person.
