The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Jack’s (Peter Bergman) paternity mystery surely must be leading to a major reveal. Yes, an immediate family member, or more than one, linked through his true father may already be living in Genoa City.
Okay, so who are Jack’s other biological tie(s)? Let’s think siblings, meaning Victor (Eric Braeden), or Jill (Jess Walton) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman). Each character would make sense, both within Y&R’s history and for potential storylines.
Obviously, Jack and Victor will go ballistic if it’s actually confirmed that Dina (Marla Adams) cavorted with Albert Miller (George Kennedy) after first meeting him in Genoa City decades ago. As viewers know, Miller wasn’t from GC. So his backstory will need to be invented in order to make this proposed reveal work.
Assume that Albert visited Wisconsin on business decades ago and met Dina. The two cavorted at the Starlight motel, as Madame Mergeron recalled. She became pregnant with Jack and possibly fooled John (Jerry Douglas) into believing he was his son.
It will be interesting to see if Y&R writes John’s ghost back into the story. Douglas hasn’t been seen on-screen since 2015. A hint at what this character is believed to have known will be tipped if he does reappear, as his ghost hasn’t been around to discuss Dina’s previous reveal about Ashley (Eileen Davidson). Apparently that’s because John didn’t know and for some Heavenly reason still wouldn’t. Although that doesn’t make full otherworldly sense.
However, a completely different storyline path can be written if, on the other hand, Jack turns out to be Neil Fenmore’s (Jim Storm) son. That reveal would make him Jill and Lauren’s half-brother through their shared father.
It’s possible that a long game was planned in this regard, as Jabot and Fenmore’s forged their business partnership in early 2017. If Jack is a Fenmore, he would seemingly be entitled to his portion of that family’s business, thereby establishing battles with his newfound sisters.
In order for this change to work, Jill will then need to have her biology adjusted. She and Jack cavorted themselves years ago. So, Jill would somehow need to be erase from Fenmore’s genetic tree.
Either plot direction offers significant potential. But making Jack become Victor’s brother would literally change the show’s trajectory forever. It also wouldn’t require the type of change (meaning with Jill) that would be needed if Jack is a Fenmore.
Jack and Victor as brothers would be one of the greatest stunners in the modern soap opera era. This major decision would impact many GC characters and potentially split, or splinter Y&R’s audience. So time will tell just how gutsy TPTB truly are.
