The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Michael Muhney (ex-Adam Newman) is speaking out on a controversial topic. After Muhney was fired from Y&R, there was plenty of speculation on why. In various interviews, Muhney admitted that he didn’t always have the best attitude on set. He had a bit of a temper and that undoubtedly contributed to the show’s decision.
However, there was also some bad buzz involving Hunter King (Summer Newman) at the time. In 2014, the whole soap world was talking about some complaints that King supposedly made. She allegedly told the execs that Muhney fondled her breasts on multiple occasions. Of course, there was never confirmation of those potential claims. The Internet was just left to wonder about the truth.
Since King’s back for a new stint on The Young and the Restless, some of Muhney’s rabid fans have been attacking his former costar. She’s received plenty of cruel messages about those old allegations. Keep in mind that the scandal first blew up over four years ago. It seems some people still blame King for Muhney’s firing, but he recently decided to set the record straight on Twitter.
“Let me be absolutely clear: People sending hateful tweets to @HunterHaleyKing about me must STOP,” Muhney said. “That internet rumor was FALSE. It never happened. She NEVER made those accusations. She’s a talented actress, let her do her job without this nonsense. Spread love not hate.”
Muhney obviously wants everyone to leave King alone. After all, the Y&R fans who keep stirring this up aren’t doing him any favors. They’re just making it less likely that Muhney will be asked back. Regardless of how things played out a few years ago, King’s still facing drama because of Muhney’s supporters. That’s not a good thing since Adam’s return – at least in some form – may be brewing.
Adam Newman’s name has been mentioned a lot lately and now we’re gearing up for a Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) custody battle. It’d be the perfect time to insert Adam back into the story. Y&R would definitely be dropping the ball if they left him off the canvas.
