The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) snooping will lead to a confrontation. Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine (Lauralee Bell), otherwise known as Pristine, are convinced that Victor (Eric Braeden) is involved in nefarious dealings. Whether that proves true is an open soapy question.
Genoa City’s Chief of Police and District Attorney are married. Their pillow talk and governmental power created a dilemma for J.T. awhile back. That’s why he’s looking around at the Ranch, hoping to find something to bring Victor down and find The Moustache’s safe on Monday’s new Y&R episode, March 19.
As Y&R viewers recall, Luckinbill’s returned character opted to go easy on Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) after he confirmed that she had embezzled money from her husband. That appeared to be a weak legal and plot point, which was underscored by the lack of supporting dialogue and evidence at the time and since.
An invented flashback sequence later showed that Paul and Chris were aware that J.T. skirted the law to help his girlfriend’s (Vickie, Amelia Heinle) mother. They offered Mr. Hellstrom two options; investigate Victor, with the intent of charging him with something, or face the consequences of having broken the law himself. J.T. chose to begin working undercover against The Moustache.
Devoted Y&R fans recall that Pristine was convinced that Victor was the head of the human trafficking ring that invaded GC in 2017. No, that proved to be Zack (Ryan Ashton), who was Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) boyfriend.
Considering past instances where these government agents felt Victor avoided prosecution and their inability to admit they were wrong about Mr. Newman last year, J.T. knows that Pristine has opted to operate with bias as their charge. So whatever he’s able to find could easily lead to a frame, unless there really is something there.
A fishing expedition is a euphemism that can be used when a person, or in this instance two people, are searching for anything that can be used to get a real, or perceived enemy. J.T.’s coerced, slippery expedition may, or may not uncover something that Pristine can use to drop the hammer on Victor. With whatever develops, Luckinbill’s character appears highly likely to be exposed with disastrous consequences according all Y&R buzz.
Vickie will surely believe that J.T. has been manipulating her emotions in order to investigate Victor the moment she learns why her former husband choose to remain in GC. Paul and Chris have and will care less about that collateral damage of their special investigation. But bureaucrats who abuse power are like that, whether on the soaps or in real life.
