The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will continue pressing for the end of a seemingly reviving Shick. While Nick (Joshua Morrow) will initially be affected by the information Phyllis reveals, he will, in the end, fully reconcile with Sharon (Sharon Case) and fully green-light Shick.
Oh yes, turnabout is fair play. As tenured viewers recall seeing, Michelle Stafford’s original Phyllis edition once took Nick from Sharon. That happened after Cassie (Camryn Grimes) died, which made the development all the more unseemly.
Four years ago, when Tognoni initially debuted in the recast, Phyllis stopped Shick’s intended remarriage at the altar. She had Sharon’s number that time, exposing information that had been misrepresented about Summer’s (Hunter King) paternity.
Y&R fans know that Phyllis was the one who insisted the ‘Girls Night In’ gang withhold information from the authorities about J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) unexpected and shocking death. She insisted that calling Paul (Doug Davidson) would result in him being hell-bent on jailing all involved.
Phyllis’ self-serving mentality easily influenced Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), who accidentally killed her once and almost-again son-in-law. Vickie (Amelia Heinle) was in shock, so she was easily led. But Sharon’s initial instinct was to tell the truth, which went along with Y&R’s recent write-back for Case’s character.
Even though Sharon subsequently threw-in with Phyllis’ and Nikki’s desires to keep the body-dump crime coverup intact, Case’s character stands in a good longterm position. Nick will see that Sharon was merely trying to protect his mother, who killed a man, albeit accidentally, and Vickie, who was the first victim in this scenario.
How can Phyllis argue against Sharon when she, Miss Summers, led this illegal charge? Nick will eventually see through Phyllis’ intent, which is to keep him and Sharon apart.
Sharon hasn’t taken Phyllis’ recent threats lying down. Nick’s first true love and the mother of two of his children lost her marriage and her sanity because of Phyllis’ destructive influence all those soapy years ago. But now, in 2018, Sharon is better prepared to fight back.
Yes, this time Phyllis will lose. When that happens fitting justice will be realized by all Shick fans who’ve been waiting for more than a decade in real time and more than two decades by Genoa City’s calendar. No matter what appears to develop through Phyllis’ negative interference within the next few weeks, Sharon will emerge victorious. And with that victory Shick Part II will be born.
