The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Recast Kyle Offers Jack New Opportunity – Son To Be Ally or Enemy?

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that a recast Kyle (most recently played by Lachlan Buchanan) will soon be arriving in Genoa City. While a recent betrayal remains fresh in Jack’s (Peter Bergman) mind, it’s possible that Kyle’s return could provide a new opportunity and bring happiness back to his life.

Viewers recall that Buchanan appeared on Y&R in 2015. He was last seen speaking with Summer (Hunter King) in the GC Athletic Club. However, this character’s name was unexpectedly placed with the majority list of Jabot board dissenters who gave Jack a no-confidence vote.

Jack hasn’t been happy in a long time. Earlier this decade he was kidnapped by Victor (Eric Braeden) and replaced by a doppelganger. Marco (also Bergman) sparked the eventual end of Phack, sending Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) into Billy’s (now played by Jason Thompson) arms.

That event resulted in natural bitterness, which sparked a cold-hearted approach to business the likes of which hadn’t been exhibited by Jack in ages. He then oddly opted to not attack Victor as Phyllis expected him to. She took that as not defending her honor. Jack later decided that their marriage was over.

After the humorous Gloria (Judith Chapman) dalliance, Jack faced a new crisis. Dina (Marla Adams) returned from Paris to sell Mergeron. She decided to stay in town and attempt to make peace with her children after abandoning them decades ago. Her revealed Alzheimer’s diagnosis and the presence of Graham (Max Shippee) sparked still-existing tension with Ashley (Eileen Davidson).

This brother-sister combo has often been at each other’s throats, but this disagreement was different. Jack’s move to invoke a blood clause in Jabot’s bylaws, thereby ousting Ashley as Chief Executive Officer, pushed his sister to make a radical move. She left the family company and accepted a position and board seat with Newman Enterprises.

Having lost his wife to his brother, his mother’s essence to Alzheimer’s and his sister to the Moustache has taken a mighty toll on the rarely Smilin’ Jack. All factors make Kyle’s return all the more intriguing.

Actor Robert Scott Wilson (Days of Our Lives, All My Children and a one-off spot on The Bold and the Beautiful, and a male host on The Price is Right) was shown outside CBS’ studios this week. So it’s possible that he landed the role and will be the new Kyle. Soap fans know that Robert Scott Wilson is super-talented and can hold his own in any role!
