The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Nick (Joshua Morrow) will turn to Sharon (Sharon Case) after he confirms that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) has been lying to him. Chick fans are already mourning the demise of this couple, while Shick supporters are heartened by the pairing possibility that lies dead ahead.
Nick revealed to Sharon that he is suspicious of Chelsea. His former wife told him to trust his instincts, which established a follow-up conversation with included consolation. Yes, Shick appears to have its best chance in years of actually reforming.
Devoted viewers will rightly point to Shick’s near remarriage earlier this decade, when the Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) recast took place. The scene where Tognoni burst into church and stopped the wedding completed the extended transition from Michelle Stafford, whose version of Phyllis literally fell into a coma after a tussle with Sharon caused a tumble down a flight of stairs.
Egan’s recent surprise cast departure announcement makes Chelsea’s coming write-out a fate accompli. While the exact nature of her character’s exit remains unknown, Nick’s single-status is certain. That does assume Y&R isn’t recasting Chelsea as Egan departs.
Two factors stood in the way of Shick getting back together within recent years. First, Sharon was tied to Dylan (Steve Burton) and then to Scott (Daniel Hall). Nick was married to Sage (Kelly Sullivan).
Burton’s return to General Hospital brought Hall aboard, but he’s since been written out. Sullivan’s character was killed off awhile ago, which led to Chick’s formation.
Sharon is single. Nick is about to be available. Sharon and Nick’s friendship has deepened in recent months. Soap fans rank with the most insightful in all of the entertainment industry. So they can surely do this easy math in an instant.
Yes, Shick isn’t fated as of the moment. But all human barriers have been removed if executive producer and head writer Mal Young wants this couple back together. Any Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity reveal would only serve to make Nick all the more vulnerable.
Despite her own duplicity, Sharon never knew that boy was Adam’s (Justin Hartley) son. She would be primed to relate to Nick’s loss and help him cope as well as anyone.
It seems unlikely that the Christian reveal would play out and that Chelsea would quickly gain rights to raise him. Instead, Victor (Eric Braeden) could lay legal claim to his grandson. Shick would make a great team in battling the Black Knight on that front. Along the way they could also also easily bond.
