The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update and recap for Thursday, September 20, tease that Jack’s (Peter Bergman) mission will hit a snag. He’ll try to swipe Victor’s (Eric Braeden) napkin at the athletic club, but Devon (Bryton James) will spot him. Jack will reluctantly give up the DNA sample and try another strategy. He’ll call Matt Miller (Richard Gleason) and ask if they can meet up.
Once Matt arrives, Jack will explain his suspicion that they might be brothers. He’ll need Matt’s help to prove it, but Matt will fear that Victor isn’t going to like this. Once Victor walks in on their conversation, he’ll indeed hit the roof. Victor will complain about Matt being disloyal, but Jack will pipe up that he might be his brother, too. He’ll hope Matt can give him the answers he’s seeking.
Meanwhile, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) will make his pitch to Sharon (Sharon Case). He’ll want her to accept a victim liaison position with the GCPD. Rey will do his best to sell it, but Sharon will reject his offer at first. However, Rey will keep up his efforts until Sharon agrees to think about it.
Once Nate (Brooks Darnell) realizes it’s Shauna’s (Camryn Hamm) birthday, he’ll choose to fill Devon (Bryton James) in. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon will plan a quick surprise party. After throwing some decorations up and inviting some of Shauna’s friends, the teen will enjoy a birthday celebration.
Later, the bash will wrap up. Y&R spoilers say Shauna will note that she’s 18 now, so she’s old enough to move out and get her own place. Of course, Devon will insist that he’d like for her to stay. He’ll add that he’s giving Shauna a four-year university scholarship in Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) memory. It sounds like Devon and Shauna’s bond will grow even stronger, so Hilary would be proud of them both.
Back with Nate, he’ll be determined to relieve some of Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) stress. She’ll object, but he’ll convince her to do some karate and learn a few self-defense moves. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria will eventually share a laugh or two with Nate. She’ll relax a bit, so Nate will be pleased with what they accomplished.
Once Victoria gets a text from Sharon, she’ll find her at Crimson Lights. They’ll debate whether the victim liaison job is a good idea. Victoria will point out that Sharon could keep an eye on Rey at the police station. Sharon would even have access to confidential information, so Victoria will urge her to go for it.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sharon will take the advice and give Rey the big news. They’ll shake hands as Rey reels Sharon in. She has no clue what’s in store for her!
