The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Two Linked Clues Indicate Michael Muhney Has Been Re-Hired – Adam Newman Returns

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that the likelihood of the Adam Newman character being resurrected and his essence again being embodied by Michael Muhney appear to have dramatically increased. Two linked clues exist, one that can be seen and another that represents omission.

First, let’s address what’s being offered to the audience. Y&R began writing dialogue that reopened the Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) issue in the fall.

Just prior to Christmas, Victor (Eric Braeden), who’s often used to telegraph dramatic trouble, threatened Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). He suddenly made reference to Christian and Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) being brothers, with the implication that he’d tell Nick (Joshua Morrow) if Chelsea didn’t bow to his wishes, which she did.

Why would executive producer and head writer Mal Young instruct his writing staff to re-open this issue? Why did Y&R allow Chelsea and Sharon (Sharon Case) to have a full conversation about Adam at Crimson Lights?

Those two women represent both of Adam’s torches. Shadam (Sharon plus Adam) proved to be a memorable whirlwind romance. Chadam (Chelsea plus Adam) became a great love story and also served to produce Connor. Chadam’s second iteration, via Justin Hartley’s efforts, was also great.

In addition to seemingly foreshadowed crumbs that have been provided for Y&R’s audience to digest, there’s also the undeniable omission point seen within Muhney’s social media feed.

Muhney is a savvy social media user. He wisely maintained engagement with his fans during the period after he’d been let go by Y&R in December 2013. Doing so allowed him to publicly express his thoughts, demonstrate his appreciation for the fans, wish Hartley well, which was very classy and show the industry that he was maintaining popularity and therefore was marketable.

The actor specifically mentioned that he was interviewing to return to Y&R in 2014. Doing so helped to debunk smear attempts that were made against him by many anonymous internet sources.

Muhney used social media to acknowledge his overly assertive behavior, which he believes sparked Y&R to not extend his contract. He’s also shared many family photos and interactions with Case, who’s remained a friend.

So why hasn’t Muhney used his social media account since late November 2017? Unless he’s suffered some personal crisis, it’s reasonable to believe that this former Adam Newman has purposely gone dark. Doing so would allow him to avoid dodging questions about anything entertainment related.

All hardcore soap fans know that unexpected cast reprisals are understandably shrouded in mystery in order to maintain the element of surprise. This particular double revival, meaning the actor and his character, would surely be a ginormous stunner with massive storyline implications and anticipated rating’s spike if it proves true.
