The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Vickie (Amelia Heinle) continues to brush off Nate (Brooks Darnell). He reached out to her shortly after arriving in Genoa City, but the never-fully-buried J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) issue prevents the furthering of this proposed friendship.
As Y&R viewers recall, Victor (Eric Braeden) was in need of doctoring. So, he reached out to Neil (Kristoff St. John) who contact his nephew, Nate.
The Nate character had always been shown as a child, until he was originally SORAS’d in 2011. Hardcore fans would recall that Walter Fauntleroy briefly played Nate seven years ago. He aided Ronan (Jeff Branson), who is Nina’s (Tricia Cast) son.
Of course, Nina is stepped in Y&R’s history. She is current GC district attorney Christine’s (Lauralee Bell) longtime friend. Chris is GC Police Chief Paul’s (Doug Davidson) wife, which underscores the small, interconnected world that exists within this classic soap.
The historical link back to Olivia (Tonya Williams, who portrayed this character from 1990-2012) was sweet. Soaps often expanded upon various character’s back stories. In this instance, Neil’s deceased wife’s (Dru, Victoria Rowell) sister was played by Williams, who once was a prominent part of Y&R’s cast.
The Barber sisters were a significant part of many storylines starting in 1990. Olivia had Nate with her husband Nathan Hastings (who was originally played by Nathan Purdee). Purdee’s character was involved in organized crime in 1984, when the actor first joined the show. Nathan provided compelling evidence to law enforcement which resulted in him being granted immunity. He later joined Paul’s private detective agency in 1985.
Nathan eventually bonded with Dru, but he became interested in Olivia and then married her. Dru’s electric relationship with Neil happened later. St. John debuted on Y&R in 1991.
Darnell’s addition to the cast this year enabled Nate’s subsequent get-along with Victor and led to the Moustache having Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) consent to Dr. Hastings’ concierge medical care. That link naturally concerns Victoria.
Nikki’s Multiple Sclerosis symptoms seem to flair up during times of stress. As her personal doctor, Nate hopes to determine what Nikki’s sources of emotional discomfort are. Killing a man, even accidentally, would be the top answer.
Vickie naturally is concerned that Nate will either determine Nikki’s stress source, or happen upon information about her deceased fiance. Either instance would likely unearth the coverup crew’s crimes, thereby putting all of them at risk for prosecution.
And who would seek justice for the man (J.T.) he once worked with? Well, that would be Paul, Nate’s father’s former boss. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless. Check back regularly for Y&R spoilers and news!
