The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is a man, just like any other man. But The Moustache has cast aside serious concerns about his mortality and is instead focusing on fighting J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) ghost.
What’s that you say? J.T. is alive! How do you know that, viewer? Of course, savvy Y&R fans anticipate that The Moustache is in for a big shock when he realizes who is behind this haunting.
Play back that digital episode-ender where Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Sharon (Sharon Case) screamed more loudly at a man in a hoodie than they have at each other, ever. Okay, hit pause, zoom in at that high definition image, if you have that feature. Is that Thad Luckinbill? Are you sure?
Victor doesn’t have the knowledge viewers do. They saw three-time-killer Nikki whack a fire poker against J.T.’s head. She didn’t hit him in the back, or the arm, or the derriere, as they would say in Paris, right Dina (Marla Adams)? That character doesn’t pertain to this plot part, but it is a funny reference nevertheless.
No, Nikki hit with intent to kill, just like she did to her father, long before Y&R debuted and to Dianne Jenkins (last played by Maura West) earlier this decade.
Mrs. Victor Newman aimed to end J.T.’s life. In the real world and possibly in this one as well, that’s exactly what she did. If that proves to be a wrong assessment, than shame on Y&R for writing a weak storyline. Okay, back to the Black Knight rant.
So, this head of a cold conglomerate (through which scores of people across the globe are employed) believes that J.T. ran out of town after treating Vickie (Amelia Heinle) badly. Victor also believes that Mr. Hellstrom is behind the intimidation and smear campaigns intending to destroy Newman Enterprises.
It’s understandable the Braeden’s character thinks as he does since J.T. left him for dead at the Ranch and then turned off his life support system in the hospital.
Y&R fans are conflicted, which puts them in the same mental space as the aptly tagged coverup crew. Nikki, Sharon, Vickie, and ring leader Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) know what really happened to J.T.
Nikki conked him. J.T. appeared to have no pulse, but even if he did, no human being could survive being buried alive in Chancellor Park. How would this devolved character have dug up through many feet of dirt and without fresh oxygen in his lungs?
Braeden has thanked fans for their concern via social media. He is grateful that many believed he really was sick, when Victor’s on-screen demeanor is just part of the current act.
So, he’s attempting to treat whatever his health concerns are by meeting in secret with Nate (Brooks Darnell) while also battling a dead man. My, my, my how far the mighty Victor Newman has fallen.
