The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that J.T. (Thad Luckinbell) will continue to keep horrible secret. He’s the one who got into a brawl with Victor (Eric Braeden) and shoved him down the stairs. Jack (Peter Bergman) will land in hot water for the crime, but J.T. won’t feel guilty enough to come forward. He’ll be too worried about saving his own bacon.
Of course, we have to consider where it all went wrong. How did J.T. sink to such an awful low? It’ll all started when Paul (Doug Davidson) pushed him to go after Victor. Y&R fans know that Paul and Christine (Laralee Bell) have been anxious to bring the sneaky Newman down. They don’t feel like Victor’s prison sentence was long enough, so they’ve been hoping to put him back behind bars.
Unfortunately, J.T.’s aggressive personality wasn’t a good match for this job. He was willing to do whatever it took to get the evidence he needed and that led to trouble. J.T. became frustrated by his own lack of progress along the way. That undoubtedly made things harder on Victoria (Amelia Heinle). The Young and the Restless viewers know she’s suffered a great deal lately.
This situation clearly snowballed out of control. You could argue that if Paul hadn’t recruited J.T. for this undercover mission, he wouldn’t have been snooping around the ranch. That means Victor wouldn’t have become suspicious and started monitoring J.T.’s activities. He also wouldn’t have summoned J.T. to confront him, so the assault could’ve been prevented.
However, there would’ve been a downside to that. Victor wouldn’t have found out about Victoria’s abuse. Although he’s currently comatose, Victor should wake up and spill the beans eventually. It’s best if someone close to Victoria knows the truth and can help her see the light. Mac (Kelly Kruger) will try her luck soon, but it would probably mean more coming from Victoria’s father.
Besides, J.T.’s responsible for his own behavior. Paul would never condone violence as a way to secure proof and protect secrets. That was something J.T. decided to do all on his own. Paul may have set all this in motion, but he didn’t put his hands on Victor and give him that shove.
What do you think about this Y&R storyline? Is Paul at fault for Victor’s coma or is J.T. the only one to blame?
