The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that the latest Adam (most recently played by Justin Hartley) reference is foreboding. Why would Y&R write Nick (Joshua Morrow) into the penthouse bathroom and then have him find money that was seemingly left behind by his dead half-brother?
Genoa City rumors were set ablaze by Y&R, not fan speculation, late last year. Victor (Eric Braeden) was used to open this closed door by threatening Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). The Moustache advised his widowed daughter-in-law to bring both of Adam’s children to the Ranch for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. She complied, while viewers tucked that plot point away for further reference.
More recently, Chelsea had a conversation with Sharon (Sharon Case) at Crimson Lights. They discussed Nick, as compared to Adam. That unusual conversation followed Morrow’s character having accidentally broken a bottle of Chelsea’s perfume in the penthouse bathroom. That vile was given to her by Adam.
As far as the discovered loot, bundled in stacks of Ben Franklin’s, it could be a stash Adam put away prior to being locked behind prison bars. This may have been his insurance policy for Chelsea and Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois). Adam didn’t know that his father would eventually help him escape prison, or that he’d supposedly die prior to telling his wife about it. Of course, that assumes that Chelsea didn’t have knowledge of the money before Nick told her.
Adam’s apparent death occurred via cabin explosion in September 2016. That loose soapy knot meant no body to be located, which then left the storyline open for a potential second resurrection. The first occurred when Michael Muhney was removed from the cast in December 2013, Adam was believed to have died in a fiery SUV crash in January 2014, auditioned to return to his role that summer, but lost out to Hartley who debuted in November.
As this is a fictional daytime tale, the issue of Adam’s remade face would have to be addressed. An extensive lead-in detailed the surgery Sage (Kelly Sullivan) and Constance (Sally Kellerman) oversaw in Adam’s regard four calendar years ago.
Assuming the dead man lives again, doctors will need to remake Adam’s face. Although, maybe Hartley’s edition of Adam was actually Gabriel Bingham all along? Thank you in advance to TPTB if Muhney proves to be the recast.
Paul (Doug Davidson) could use his investigation into the found money to further the Adam returns story. Meanwhile, another crack in Chick’s relationship egg is showing.
