The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a new hunk is headed to the CBS soap, but there’s a catch. Unfortunately, it seems this handsome fella will only be around for one episode. Of course, plans could change if fans like him or he has serious chemistry with a costar. Whatever the case, Jason Canela will heat things up when he arrives on February 2.
Canela might look familiar to anyone who watched Pitch on Fox. He played the gorgeous Omar Robles on this primetime baseball drama. Canela has also appeared in telenovelas like Ruta 35, Cosita Linda and Donda Esta Elisa. He portrayed a character on YouTube Red’s Long Distance as well.
Now Canela is ready to be steamy and dreamy on The Young and the Restless. According to EW, Canela will play Arturo. He’s a building contractor who has lots of luck with the ladies. Arturo will turn on the charm as he works to win a client over somehow. Who will Arturo flirt with and will his plan pay off? What’s the goal of this appearance – other than providing some eye candy?
Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) decided against building a dream home, but they could change their minds eventually. If not, perhaps some penthouse remodeling is in order. Arturo could cross the line with Chelsea and potentially rock the boat for “Chick.”

However, there are other options to consider. A building contractor might be needed for expansion plans at Newman Enterprises or specifically, Brash and Sassy. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) could be quite attracted to this young dreamboat. Her interaction with him could spark some jealousy for J.T. (Thad Luckinbell).
We’ll soon learn that Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) lab is being remodeled, so maybe Jabot could hire a new contractor if the current one goofs. That could set up Arturo’s seduction efforts. As we’ve seen with Ravi (Abhi Sinha), Ashley sometimes goes for younger gents. She would undoubtedly turn Arturo away, but this scenario could leave Ashley missing Ravi or longing for something new.
Arturo could also make waves for “Lane” if Y&R lets Lily (Christel Khalil) and Arturo to share scenes. Perhaps Lily could meet with Arturo as a favor to Victoria. That could leave Cane (Daniel Goddard) envious and be the final push they need to nail down their reunion.
