Debbie was angry when she found out about Larissa’s kids and what probably hurt the most was that Colt knew. Colt was her son! He told her everything else but failed to mention that Larissa has children. The children should have been a huge factor in whether these two got married. Larissa and Colt argued all the time and their marriage has been rocky from the start. Debbie didn’t think it was the right time to bring children into the equation and she told Colt as much. She also asked if he was supporting her kids and he assured he wasn’t. Like, yeah, Larissa has mentioned bringing her children to America one day. Colt just didn’t think that day would be anytime soon because they still have a few things to work out and so the kids weren’t really a part of things right now.
Elizabeth didn’t have that option. She was pregnant and her child was inevitable. The baby was coming and, in the lead-up, Elizabeth was having to deal with so much stress. Her husband claimed to be a hard worker and he hasn’t shown it. Andrei and Elizabeth have been married for a while, but he falls short each time he’s asked to contribute to their family or show some kind of initiative. He wasted a lot of money on trucking school and now he says he doesn’t want to do it anymore. Andrei said he wants to be a handyman and it’s like he fails to grasp how many bills they have to pay right now. They left the rent-free house that her father arranged and they’re currently renting. Their bills were only going to rise with the addition of a baby and so Elizabeth realized she has to confront her husband. She has to tell him that he needs to find a job now or they weren’t going to make it.
Chantel and Pedro were another couple in need of a confrontation. Pedro went back to the Dominican Republic because he said he wanted to help his family to start a business and he didn’t mention when he was coming back. He just upped and left, but not before telling his wife that he didn’t want her in the Dominican Republic. Chantel was suspicious before and that only made her question why he was going. Did he really want to help his family or did he want his family to convince him to divorce Chantel. Chantel has been talking to friends and she’s been hearing things about Pedro’s family. They’ve been getting money from other people and when someone doesn’t agree with that they suddenly find their relationship ruined by this one family.
Chantel thinks Pedro’s family are users and it makes her reconsider what her own family has been telling her. The thought that Pedro would leave her now that he has a visa has left her scared. Chantel wants to go to the Dominican Republic to fight for her man, but she doesn’t want to deal with his family and so that put Pedro in the middle He doesn’t want to feel like he has to choose between his wife and his mother and sister. The latter has always been there for him and he knows that Chantel couldn’t say the same. Chantel’s family has said horrible things about him and he never felt like Chantel has been in his corner. He was constantly having to defend himself and that’s not what he wanted from life. He was a young man and him just to live his life.
Meanwhile, Nicole was still in her delusionary world. Nicole likes to believe that and Azan are committed to each other and that he’s May’s father while the truth was a lot simpler. Azan just doesn’t care about either of them. If he did, he would have gotten a job and actually marry Nicole when they were living together in Morocco. He also could have at least saved some of the money she’s been sending him. Nicole has funded his own lifestyle and she even bought his ticket to Grenada. Nicole said that she doesn’t want Azan to worry about the little things but she has a daughter and the daughter deserves better. May was being carried around on each of these whims and Azan wasn’t putting in much thought what she needed. And that right there is a huge red flag.
Yet it didn’t seem to matter to Nicole. She still planned on marrying Azan and she thought they finally do it in Grenada but he called her right before the trip and he told her he wasn’t coming. Grenada was off and once again Nicole found herself shouldering the financial burden. Nicole soon fled the cameras and when she came back she was willing to believe in Azan again. She said he had to drop the trip because something came up and he refused to say what it was. Nicole believed him from the beginning and she didn’t want to hear that he was a scammer or that he doesn’t really want to be with her. Her mother and brother had these concerns but Nicole refused to believe it and she still claims she and Azan or together.
Then there was Ashley and Jay’s relationship. They’ve been at an impasse since Ashley learned he was texting other women behind her back and since then she’s been punishing him so that she feels better. Only Ashley still wasn’t happy. She wasn’t sure what she wanted and she’s has helped herself by running from his problems. Ashley went to NYC to hang out with friends and for the most part, she wondered what Jay was up to. Jay was left at home by himself and he really could have done anything in that time. He could claim he stayed home and the truth was he went out to party or he could have invited someone over. So all these thoughts made Ashley realize she has to make a decision.
Ashley came home and, for the first time in a very long time, she talked to her husband rather than at him. Jay was ready to leave the past behind them and Ashley admitted she wanted that as well. She wants to trust him and she wants to work on their marriage. It was going to take a while but they both agreed to work on their marriage and Jay said he wouldn’t make the same mistake. Ashley warned him that if he did that again that they were over and she really means it. She doesn’t want to feel like the fool for forgiving him if he wasn’t going to respect her and so hopefully he meant it when he said he’s changed.
Also, Elizabeth talked to her husband. She told him that he needed a job and she said that he needed to go to her dad. Her dad offered to hire Andrei if he came in himself to ask for a job. So Elizabeth told him the offer and she couldn’t deal with Andrei when he became irrational. He said he wouldn’t do it and that he didn’t want to accept anything from her dad but Elizabeth hoped the truth would knock some sense into him. She told Andrei that her dad had given her the money to get the apartment. They couldn’t have moved without her dad’s help and so Andrei should have seen how desperate they were financial. And instead, he went on about how Elizabeth betrayed him by going to her dad for help.
Chantel, on the other hand, decided to go to the Dominican Republic. She called her husband to tell him she’s coming and his reaction was very telling. He told her she could literally go anywhere else but come down there and he was so offensive that they got into an argument about it. Chantel wanted to know why her husband didn’t want to be with her and he couldn’t answer that question. He tried to tell her not to come and that’s when she said she already bought her ticket. Chantel was coming no matter what he said and so he tried to get on board with it. Pedro talked to his family and he was surprised when she said she couldn’t come to the house. His mother and sister wanted nothing to do with Chantel and if he brought her back to the house then neither of them were going to talk to her.
Larissa and Colt were other couples in trouble. Right as things were coming along, they began to fall apart again and this time for different reasons. They’ve been having problems in the bedroom because they each want something differently and so they’re trying to work through it with a counselor. The counselor seemed to be helping and the couple got along for a second but then they were decorating the house for Halloween and Larissa wanted to move the slot machine. The slot machine was a gift from Debbie’s husband to her and she’s very fond of it now that he’s passed. Larissa approached Debbie about it and she asked to move it for the holiday. And Debbie refused because she said Larissa was trying to push her buttons again.
So Larissa and Debbie got into another argument and that once more intruded on Larissa’s relationship with Colt.
