Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some sad news to pass on about a former Days star. Miranda Wilson, who portrayed Megan Hathaway DiMera on the NBC soap, recently announced the death of two close family members. Both Miranda’s mother and mother-in-law have passed away.
On February 8, 2019, Miranda shared the news of her mother’s passing on her Facebook page. Her mother was Dorothy (Dottie) Wilson, and sadly passed away after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Miranda shared several photographs of her mother and her family and wrote at length about her mother’s life and times. Her mother clearly led a wonderfully full life and was surrounded by her loved ones at the end.
More recently, Miranda reported the news of her mother-in-law’s passing on her feed. She described her mother-in-law Melinda as “one of the warmest, most loving women I’ve ever known.” Even though Miranda and Melinda’s son were divorced, Miranda was very close to her. “She showed me with her actions, how to accept,” Miranda wrote.
Miranda memorably portrayed Megan Hathaway DiMera from 1984-1985. Megan came on the scene as Bo Brady’s (Peter Reckell) old girlfriend. However, Bo was then smitten with Hope Williams (Kristian Alfonso), so Megan lied and tried to get Bo to believe that she had his baby but gave it up for adoption. Ultimately, Megan met her death at the hands of Larry Welch (Andrew Hyatt Masset), when he electrocuted her in a hot tub.
