Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some sad news to pass on about the neighbor of a popular DOOL star. Gilles Marini, who portrays Ted Laurent on the NBC soap, recently shared on social media that his good friend and neighbor had passed away. Gilles also expressed concern with how his neighbor had been treated during the past few years.
Gilles shared several touching photos of himself with his neighbor, and it’s clear that Gilles and his family took a significant caretaking role with the person. In the photos, Gilles and the neighbor are smiling big, drinking beer together, playing with Gilles’ pet birds, and just enjoying life.
Gilles expressed his sadness over his neighbor’s death in the caption: “RIP. This is my good friend and neighbor who just passed away. It was with a very heavy heart that I said my last good bye yesterday. I had the honor to spend a lot of time with him; countless hours spent talking about old movies, life, and doctor appointments. Your 30-something stair climb with your wheelchair was always an adventure.”
But Gilles’ message also shed some light on the personal struggles that his neighbor faced in life: “You were denied dignity these past few years and I don’t know if I can ever forgive those responsible. I wish I could have done more. Death can be so lonely.”
Finally, Gilles ended with a plea to others: “Please people, take care of your parents until the end. I’m torn – I was washing you and I was a stranger in your life. You will always have a special place in my heart. Thank God I was given the gift of taking care of my father and the gift of you being in my life, S.”
Gilles’ photos and message has received an outpouring of support from his followers, most of whom offered their condolences and praised Gilles for caring for his neighbor in his time of need. One person wrote, “I always admire how you and your family helped him, gave him company, and were so loving. He was a real good man. Rest In Peace.”
