Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Hope Hernandez (Kristian Alfonso) will take matters into her own hands. She and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) have had nothing but problems for months now. It looked like they were on the road to repairing their relationship when Rafe surprised Hope with an anniversary dinner recently, but it just doesn’t look like these two are going to work things out.
Rafe has been upset for months about Hope’s relationship with Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini). Ted’s always into Hope’s business, and Hope has been relying on him for support in Rafe’s absence. When Rafe ran off to help Sami DiMera (Alison Sweeney) in Italy, Ted was there. And when Rafe went to help Jordan Ridgeway (Chrishell Hartley) find her baby, Ted was there.
But things really went downhill when Rafe decided to bring Jordan’s baby, David, into his troubled marriage. As DOOL viewers know, Rafe wanted Hope to help him care for the baby and Hope flatly refused. That led Rafe to choose David over Hope, and he promptly moved out of their home.
And if all this weren’t bad enough, some tragic events are going to transpire that will wield a death blow to “Rope’s” marriage. In the search for kidnapped and missing Holly Jonas (Harlow and Scarlett Mallory), Rafe will disobey a direct order from Hope on the job, and there will be horrific consequences.
Specifically, a vehicle carrying Holly will go over a precipice, perhaps during a police chase that was never supposed to happen, and the vehicle will end up exploding before anyone can get to it. Ultimately, Holly will be presumed dead, Hope will lose her job as police commissioner, and Rafe’s job will be in serious jeopardy.
According to Days of Our Lives spoilers, this will be too much for Hope and Rafe’s marriage to take, and Hope will promptly contact Belle Black (Martha Madison) to get divorce papers drawn up. Hope will have had enough, and that will be the end of “Rope’s” marriage.
Following all this, Rafe will be distraught, and he’ll end up removing his wedding ring and throwing away in frustration. It will be interesting what Hope and Rafe will do now that their marriage is over and they go their separate ways. Hope will likely gravitate more towards Ted, which will inevitably lead to more heartbreak for her given that Ted is one of Holly’s captors.
Of course, Hope likely won’t find out about Ted’s involvement in Holly’s kidnapping for some time. And then there’s Rafe, who seems to be gravitating toward Lani Price (Sal Stowers) as the two of them care for baby David.
