Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some great news to pass on – Louise Sorel, who has portrayed Vivian Alamain in the past, will be reprising her role on the NBC soap. The news broke after her former Santa Barbara costar Nicolas Coster revealed in a podcast that Louise couldn’t attend a Santa Barbara reunion cruise back in November because she was taping at DOOL.
Louise last portrayed Vivian in May 2018, after she was deliberately shot by Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) in the DiMera mansion. The last we saw Louise’s version of Vivian, she had been revived from the dead by Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay). But the character of Vivian would return in the latter part of 2019 when Robin Strasser took over the role for a short stint.
Well, it seems that Louise will be back to reprise her role as Vivian, and giving the advanced taping schedule at DOOL, that means we should see her on screen mid-summer 2020. That is shortly after the time period when Brandon Barash is expected to return to DOOL, presumably as Stefan DiMera, who supposedly died in late 2019.
After Stefan’s death Robin Strasser’s version of Vivian left Salem in mourning, after Stefan arranged for a private jet to take her to parts unknown shortly before her death. As DOOL viewers will remember, Vivian was on the run for shooting Kate and burying her alive in the cemetery. We’ll see what brings Vivian back to Salem – we suspect it will be her son Stefan.
Of course, whether or not Vivian will have been privy to Stefan’s survival remains to be seen. She certainly knows that the DiMeras have a history of saving their own from almost certain death, so if Stefan has survived somehow, it’s likely that Vivian will have been aware of this. Time will tell what happens here, but we’re definitely looking forward to seeing Vivian back and in action.
Interestingly, Robin Strasser has been tweeting about the development. As you might know, Robin is quite active on Twitter and frequently tweets about what she’s up to and various showbiz developments. She recently tweeted that she had been in contact with Louise Sorel and that she was thrilled for her return to DOOL.
Then, she clarified some matters. She tweeted: “When #DAYS called me saying #LouiseSorel did NOT want to return to play Vivian again – I believed them – The offer was take it or leave it/get here in 5 days! Dang – I grabbed it:( To my shame – I didn’t check with Louise 1st – NOW I’m troubled that I’ve been a BAD friend – that’s saddening…”
At any rate, we were thrilled to see Robin on DOOL as Vivian, just as we’re thrilled to see Louise back in the role. In fact, we can’t wait for her to come shake things up with Kate and Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus), and to be reunited with Stefan.
