Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers preview tease that the Brady family will get some terrible news this week. The DOOL promo for the week of June 17 offers a touching preview of this week’s main event: the sudden death of Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay).
As DOOL viewers know, Peggy McCay, who portrayed Caroline Brady for over 30 years, passed away last year. The show plans a moving tribute to the beloved Brady matriarch, and it certainly looks like it won’t disappoint.
Several fan-favorite characters will be returning for Caroline’s services, including Sami DiMera (Alison Sweeney), Carrie Reed (Christie Clark), Belle Brady (Martha Madison), and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer). The family will lay Caroline to rest, then gather at the Brady Pub to celebrate Caroline’s life and times.
DOOL viewers can expect to hear several touching remembrances about Caroline from her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and close family friends. The promo shows John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Shawn, and Sami each saying a few words about Caroline, as well as a group toast led by Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) to her beloved “Ma.”
The promo also addresses someone else who will be deeply affected by Caroline’s death, and that’s Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). As longtime DOOL viewers will remember, Victor and Caroline shared a deep love.
And although there were certainly some trying times over the years resulting from Caroline and Victor’s affair that produced Bo Brady (Peter Reckell), it looks like the family will reach out to Victor and let him know he is welcome at Caroline’s services.
Specifically, Kayla is heard in the promo sadly telling Victor that Caroline passed on. “I’m really sorry to be the one to tell you this,” she says. “My mother passed away last night. I know how much my mother meant to you. I just hope you know how much you meant to her.” As Kayla speaks, Victor is shown in tears clutching a vintage photograph of himself with Caroline.
DOOL viewers can also expect some poignant moments involving Caroline’s spirit. As CDL has reported, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) will be the first person to know that Caroline has passed, as he “sees” her during an out-of-body experience as he nearly dies. Thankfully, Will’s life will be saved, and it will be partially due to Caroline urging him to fight for his life.
The promo also shows Caroline’s spirit peering in the window of the Brady Pub as her family and friends have gathered to celebrate her life. She’s seen from the back as she looks in the window, watching over her loved ones and bidding them a fond farewell.
