Benny survived his ordeal. He took a bullet to the shoulder and a minor bump on his head, but his friend came away much worst. His friend actually died. Benny would have been killed as well if there hadn’t been a passerby. The assassin didn’t want to take the risk of anyone seeing him. He fled the scene and Benny later chose to do the same. Benny didn’t want to be there when the cops showed. He didn’t have any answers for them nor did he want to give Kindred or his people the means of getting to him.
Benny knew people at the hospital weren’t safe. Kindred’s people got to the last guy in the hospital and Benny didn’t want to be next. He fled the scene of the crime and he went to Jo’s place. He needed her help in patching himself up. He also had credible evidence against the assassin because he took note of the man’s license plate. He told Jo the numbers and she couldn’t get the gist of it. She had needed the girls’ help in remembering the numbers and then she promptly told them to go to bed.
They didn’t need to hear what she did. Jo called Abby and together they helped Benny to get right. He was even well enough to tell them what happened. He and his friend April were decrypting the hard drive when out of nowhere she changes her mind. She said this didn’t feel right and she advised to him to back away as well. No sooner did April change her mind that someone began shooting at them. Benny tried to drive the car away and they ended up crashing into another vehicle.
It was this other driver that saved Benny’s life. Benny was ducking in the car when the assassin came by and thanks to this other driver the only thing the assassin could do was grab the hard drive. It was after everything had happened and Benny had finished recounting the story, he also added that he was done. He didn’t think they should go after Kindred anymore and there was more to it. Benny believes they should all go into hiding. He didn’t think it was safe to stick around or fight.
Benny told Jo they were never going to win against Kindred. Kindred was way too powerful and Benny was blaming himself for having involved April. But Jo didn’t listen to Benny. He had gotten the license plate and the plate lead directly back to Kindred company. This meant they finally had proof. Jo felt the information was enough to connect Kindred to everything and she later arrested him. She got as far as bringing him back to the station when the District Attorney showed. The guy said the information sounded like a very good story and just that.
He didn’t think any of it was real. From the assassinations to destroying bodies in the morgue, the truth was a little bit out there and it was only natural that the DA didn’t want to sign off on what he thought was a joke. He told Jo to release her prisoner. She had no choice in the matter and she did what she was ordered to do. She released Kindred. Kindred then went after her family and he had bought Alex’s company just to fire Alex. Alex was now without a job and he didn’t know why. He thought it was merely layoffs that came with a buyout.
It was Jo that told him the truth. She told him that Kindred was wrapped up in everything involving Piper and that Kindred was lashing out at her family to get her to back off. Jo even though that’s what she should do. Alex didn’t think the same. He told her to keep pursuing the case and he convinced Jo to finish what she started with Kindred. She needed to find evidence against him. She tried going to Emily and Emily had plenty of reasons to be useful. She sorta blew her cover at the cabin when she built a modem.
Building her own computer like that had helped the assassin to find her. It was a good thing Chris showed up like he did because he saved Emily’s life and brought her back to the station. Emily had made a horrible mistake that almost killed her yet she didn’t see it that way. All she cared about was having something to do. She was bored and so Jo tasked her with finding evidence on Kindred. Jo also relied on Benny who was back on his feet. Benny reached out to his friends and he got a lead on the assassin’s whereabouts.
Benny tried picking a fight with him. It didn’t work and he was getting his butt beat. Benny was losing the fight when Jo arrived and saved him. She chased the assassin away. She also found out that Benny got something off the assassin. He managed to grab the other man’s keys. There were apartment keys and, after some digging, they soon found the right apartment. They knew it was the right one when they saw the hard drive in the tub covered with acid. The assassin seems was erasing his footprint as he goes.
There wasn’t much in the apartment. There was this list that didn’t make sense because it seemed like a To-Do list and yet why would an assassin put a dead man on his list. Benny said the man on the list was once his source on Kindred. He was never able to prove it, but his source went quiet right when the man died and so Jo investigated that angle. She learned that the dead man used to be Kindred’s partner. Also, someone broke into the widow’s home the other day, so it was clear this assassin.
The assassin was looking for something. Jo and Benny needed to know what it was if it could keep them safe and as they were searching for evidence – there was an incident with Jo’s father. Ed passed out as he was driving the girls. His cancer was back and it seems to be more aggressive than ever.
Anyways, Ed passed out and the car was driving straight into a truck when Piper saved them. She stopped the truck from hitting them and now Mia knows she has magical powers. And still, no one knows about the visions the little girl has been having.
She often pictures herself at a door and behind that door was Kindred. He wanted to check in on her and he told her that these visions/meetings were a secret. She wasn’t going to remember any of it when she woke up. And so no one knows that Kindred wrote a backdoor into her code.
