General Hospital (GH) spoilers has some news to pass on about a popular GH star. Ashton Arbab, who portrays Dev Cerci on the ABC soap, has a new job and will be appearing in an upcoming Netflix family film and just wrapped filming in Vancouver on the project.
Ashton posted a picture of himself on Instagram outside his trailer looking happy and smiling big. His trailer is labeled “Tommy” after the character he will be playing in the film, and he posted the following caption: “That’s a picture wrap on ’Tommy’ !!!! Thank you so much @netflix for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this amazing film with such a fantastic cast and crew. What a blessing. Can’t wait for everyone to see our film ‘A Baby Sitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting’ coming sooooooon to a Netflix account near you hahahahah!!!!”
The film “A Baby Sitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting” is based on the book by the same name by author Joe Ballarini. It’s the first in a series of three books, with the remaining two titled “A Baby Sitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting #2: Beats & Geeks” and “A Baby Sitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting #3: Mission To Monster Island.”
The film is about a first-time babysitter named Kelly Ferguson. When the child she’s in charge of babysitting is kidnapped by the “boogeyman,” she discovers a secret society of babysitters who protect children from monsters…as well as a society of monsters she’ll ultimately have to fight to save her charge’s life.
It’s not clear what Ashton’s character does in the film, but we do know that the film stars Oona Laurence, who also has appeared in “Southpaw” and “Bad Moms,” and Indya Moore, who appeared in “Pose.” The cast also includes “Harry Potter” alum Tom Felton, which has received quite a bit of press recently, and newcomer Tamara Smart.
Directing the film will be Rachel Talalay, who also directed episodes of “Riverdale” and “Supergirl.” The book’s original author Joe Ballarini wrote the script, so fans of the series can probably expect the movie to follow the book pretty closely.
