General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) world will come crashing down. He adores Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and is desperate to keep their bright future intact. Unfortunately, Peter’s doing some extremely dark things to make that happen. He’s only making matters worse, so all of this is sure to blow up in Peter’s face.
The question is: just how bad will the outcome be? The writing’s on the wall for Peter’s exit here. There’s been some strong General Hospital buzz about it, and the story kind of speaks for itself. There was no reason to pump up Peter’s role in the memory-mapping project otherwise. GH is intentionally undoing all their hard work to redeem Peter, so there has to be a good reason why.
That reason is probably because Peter’s headed for the exit door. With that in mind, we have to consider what kind of exit might be in store. If Peter indeed leaves Port Charles, will he do it dead or alive? It could go either way at this point. There are several factors to consider as we determine the ultimate outcome for Peter.
One thing we have to think about is just how much darker Peter could get. If they just keep sinking Peter lower and lower, death could become inevitable. That’s especially true if Peter does something wild toward the end. It’s easy to imagine Peter losing it and kidnapping Maxie. Throw little James West into the mix and Peter might have to die.
However, we can’t rule out the idea of General Hospital sending Peter to prison. They’ve always played up this interesting dichotomy with Peter. Is he a good guy with the capability to bad things? Is he a bad guy who still has a little good in him? If GH wants to keep perpetuating this idea that Peter’s a tortured soul who’s making mistakes in the name of love, they might opt to send Peter to the slammer.
That could leave the door open for Peter’s return one day. Of course, they could do that if they make Peter a true villain as well. We always need a few of those alive to pop up from time to time. Shiloh Archer’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) exit is also rapidly approaching, so that’s a final factor to consider. If Shiloh dies, does that make it less likely that Peter will die?
The show may not want to do two deadly exits in a row. It could be seen as a bit repetitive depending on how these departures go down. Whatever the case, Peter seems to be on his way out. Whether he faces a grisly fate or gets locked up, Peter should indeed pay for his crimes.
