General Hospital (GH) spoilers has some sad news to report about a former General Hospital star. Brian Turk, who portrayed Bo Crowell on the ABC soap in 2008, has died at age 49. He passed away on Friday, September 13, as a result of complications due to brain cancer.
Brian was a prolific actor who began his acting career in the 1990s. He appeared on primetime shows such as Saved By The Bell, Beverly Hills 90210, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. During the 2000s, he appeared as “Gabriel” on the HBO drama Carnivale, and he also appeared in major motion pictures such as American Pie 2, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, and Big Fat Liar.
According to reports, Brian was diagnosed with cancer last year, but kept it quiet in order not to worry his family and friends. However, the situation eventually became terminal, and he shared the news publicly.
Earlier this year, Brian’s good friend Carlos Marlene Montiel created a GoFundMe page to help Brian and his family with the staggering medical bills they faced as a result of his ongoing treatment. It was at that time that fans of Brian’s became aware of his cancer diagnosis.
And on Sunday, September 15th, Carlos shared with the GoFundMe community that Brian had passed away. “Unfortunately, Brian passed away Friday morning, 9/13, from complications of his cancer,” he wrote. “Please continue to share this Go Fund Me and I will send out funeral arrangements once they are finalized. Thank you for the continued support for the Turk family.”
Brian is survived by his wife, Emily Wu, and the couple’s 8-year-old son.
Our deepest condolences go out to Brian’s family at this time. Stay tuned to the ABC soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest General Hospital spoilers, updates, and news.
