General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is a little more than suspicious about Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab), the young boy who Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has taken in to his home.
So far, Jason has quietly voiced his concern about the wisdom of Sonny’s decision to take Dev in and make him a member of the Corinthos family, but it seems that his concern runs pretty deep.
All one has to do is observe the way that Jason glares at Dev every time they share the same air space to know that Jason isn’t keen on what Dev is up to. In Jason’s mind, it’s suspect that a teenager would be able to make his way from Turkey to Port Charles without being detected or stopped by the authorities. Jason may suspect that Dev had help getting to Sonny in Port Charles, and he could be right.
Is Dev Cerci Trying To Infiltrate Sonny Corinthos’ Inner Circle?
Of course, there’s also the sheer possibility that Dev is simply very crafty, and that he did indeed make his way to Port Charles on his own. But Jason probably feels that this is a very remote possibility, and that Dev could have had help from someone who wants to infiltrate Sonny’s inner circle. Dev had connections with Raj Patel (Nosir Dalal), and even though Raj is dead, there could be people close to him who want to do Sonny harm.
After all, Sonny did infiltrate Raj’s compound and manage to steal Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna) away from Raj. If Raj still has powerful operatives out there, it’s certainly within the realm of possibility that they might send Dev to Port Charles to pull off some kind of revenge scheme against Sonny. What better way to get close to Sonny and his family than to send an innocent-looking kid in?
Of course, Sonny doesn’t see how Dev could be a threat at all. As far as Sonny is concerned, Dev is just an innocent kid who lacks a family and needs some support. He reminds Sonny of himself when he was younger, and he feels a fatherly need to give Dev a good chance at a life.
Proceeding With Caution Is The Best Bet For Sonny Corinthos
Chances are, both Jason and Sonny have valid points. It’s probably a bit far-fetched to think that Dev is part of some big plot to get revenge on Sonny, but that doesn’t mean that Dev is trouble-free. After all, Jason did catch Dev in the act of robbing Laura Webber’s (Genie Francis) purse at The Metro Court, so he’s clearly still got a criminal mindset which could end up getting Sonny into trouble.
Plus, Dev seems a little too keen on getting into Sonny’s business activities. Given his past, Dev may crave the life of crime a little too much, and that could end up putting Sonny and his empire at risk. Sonny would be smart to listen to Jason and trust his right-hand-man’s instincts when it comes to Dev. Proceeding with caution would be a good idea.
At any rate, things should get interesting as Sonny tries to guide Dev and be a fatherly figure to him, while Dev continues to push to be a part of Sonny’s business empire. And Jason will be right there to keep an eye on the youngster. Do you think Jason is right to be suspicious of Dev?
