General Hospital (GH) spoilers has some news to pass on about a close family friend of a popular GH star. Laura Wright, who portrays Carly Corinthos on the ABC soap, recently shared a plea for help for her son’s best friend.
Laura tweeted a picture of a sweet-looking little puppy, along with details for a GoFundMe account. It seems that her son’s best friend adopted a puppy, not knowing that it had serious medical problems. Her tweet reads: “My sons best friend…please help if you can.”
The GoFundMe page offers some additional details about the puppy and her health issues. The page description reads: “Maiya is a 10 week old puppy that I bought without being told of her health issues. Upon bringing her home on January 13th, I immediately started to notice that something wasn’t right. The next morning I took her to my local vet who informed me that she was very sick.”
The description continues: “The immediate diagnosis was severe anemia. The anemia has weakened her body to the point where she needs a blood transfusion. Please be the miracle to save Maiya’s life.”
Donations have been steadily coming in for Maiya’s medical needs. As of this writing, Maiya has received approximately half of the $5,000 GoFundMe goal. Pet medical bills can be very expensive, and we hope that donations keep coming in so Maiya’s goal is met.
