General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that some great drama’s brewing in Port Charles, but what about the drama behind the scenes? Whether soap fans admit it or not, must of us enjoy some juicy gossip from the set! When people start whispering, it’s fun to pass the popcorn and listen up.
In a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest, they had some interesting blind items. These are just some tidbits that could be about any of the four remaining daytime dramas. In other words, there’s no guarantee they’re about GH, but they could be. With that in mind, let’s take a look at them and see if we can figure it out.
The first one actually has a pretty good chance of being about General Hospital. It reveals that an All My Children alum came quite close to scoring the role of a high-profile recast. There are two reasons that sounds a lot like GH.
For starters, the show is always eager to find talent from soaps of yesteryear – particularly ones that aired on ABC. Mark Lawson, for example, played Brody Lovett on ABC’s One Life to Live before landing the part of Dustin Phillips on GH. It’s easy to imagine General Hospital giving an AMC alum real consideration.
The second reason this sounds like GH involves the high-profile recast. General Hospital buzz suggests Nikolas Cassadine will have a brand-new face when he returns to town. It doesn’t get any more high-profile that a Nikolas recast. People have been talking about this comeback for what feels like forever.
Regardless, this blind item indicates that the plan fell through for whatever reason. Perhaps the AMC alum just couldn’t beat out another popular choice in the end. It’s intriguing info to consider anyway as General Hospital spoilers tease that Nikolas Cassadine will emerge during November Sweeps!
Next, there’s a blind item about a newcomer causing some problems and griping about a storyline. That honestly doesn’t sound much like GH. At the moment, there aren’t many newcomers, especially ones that’d be complaining.
Finally, a blind item points to several soap kids being rapidly aged soon. That one is likely about Days of Our Lives due to the looming time jump. DOOL’s set to leap one year into the future, and a couple kid recasts have already been confirmed. Not all the kids will be rapidly aged though, so maybe it’s worth considering General Hospital here, too.
Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) was recently mentioned, so he could be a SORAS candidate. Now that the show’s aged Danny Morgan (Porter Fasullo) and Scout Cain (Ella Ramacieri), could they age Jake Webber (Hudson West) and Aiden Webber (Jason David)? What about Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) now that Donna Corinthos is the baby of the Corinthos family?
They’re all such cute kids and fantastic little actors, so we hope this one’s not about GH! Again, that time jump makes it much more likely Days is the answer. Maybe we’ll dodge a GH SORAS bullet and keep some of the finest young soap stars in the biz.
