General Hospital (GH) spoilers has some intriguing news to pass on about some ABC soaps that could get revived soon. As reported by Soap Opera Digest, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke recently made some comments that have people excited about possible All My Children (AMC) and One Life to Live (OLTL) reboots.
The comments came at the recent Television Critics Association tour, during which reporters and critics get to ask TV executives various questions about their shows. During the tour, someone in the crowd asked about possibly resurrecting AMC and OLTL, and Burke said, “There might be some conversation about that. There might be.”
AMC was canceled by ABC in 2011, and OLTL was canceled in 2012, but both were later brought back and streamed online in 2013 for a short period of time before being canceled again. Fans have been clamoring for revivals ever since, and Burke’s comments have a lot of fans excited about the possibility.
Some soap stars have weighed in on the matter, too. Kassie DePaiva, who now portrays Eve Donovan on Days of Our Lives and formerly portrayed Blair Cramer on OLTL tweeted: “It never should have been canceled! #oltl.”
And Robin Strasser, who portrayed Dorian Lord on OLTL tweeted this: “People are asking me ‘is it true that #ABCTV is considering rebooting #AMC & #OLTL?’ -I DON’T KNOW…but wouldn’t it be WONDERFUL? Would I be available to play #DorianLord again? -DANG YES! I’ve NEVER gotten over the loss of my TV family and friends-I miss them as much as you have:)”
Susan Lucci, who portrayed Erica Kane on AMC, got in on the excitement as well. On Instagram, she posted a picture of an older People Magazine cover featuring AMC and showing some of its stars with the following caption: “Flashback Friday! ALL MY CHILDREN reboot?!!! I’m hearing the buzz!!”
Given the massive fan responses to these stars’ posts, there appears to be a lot of excitement about the possibility of revivals. It seems that fans are ready to pick up where the shows left off all those years ago.
