There refugees coming in from all over Gotham. The people were scared because they knew that the government had been turned against them and so Gordon tried to figure out what to do with Harvey’s help. They needed to protect these people and that was going to be humanely impossible when the bombs start dropping, but the guys have always found a way before and so they believed they could do the same again. Gordon and Harvey had worked out how to move the refugees to safety and as they were going over their plans Gordon asked his friends to get into contact with Barbara and Lee. He wanted the ladies to come back with the baby and unfortunately, they weren’t in the position to return anyone’s phone calls.

The women have been taken, hostage. Nyssa has them now and she considered the best revenge for Barbara killing her father was not only to destroy Gotham but to take her daughter and raise her as an al-Ghul. The little girl would never who her real parents were and Nyssa would raise her to destroy worlds like everyone else in her family. She taunted Barbara with this knowledge and then left her handcuffed at Penguin’s old office. Penguin wasn’t there anymore because he had planned on fleeing Gotham with Ed and only at the last minute did he change his mind. Penguin said that he couldn’t leave his city to burn and he chose to go back because he wanted to help fight for it. He tried to explain this all to Ed and at first Ed didn’t get it but he slowly came around.

It turns out the submarine was built for two people to pilot it and so he used that as his excuse to stay. Nygma, Penguin, Gordon, and Harvey stood together when Bane returned with the army at his back and they tried holding him off, but they were outmanned and outgunned. Bane even got a hold of a rocket launcher. He blew through the GCPD barrier wall and the police were forced to fall back to their headquarters. It was that Gordon heard back from Selina. She found Lee and Lee told her that Barbara and the baby had been taken somewhere else. The two were with Nyssa and the General. Gordon knew that to rescue meant he would have to go alone and so he left Harvey to oversee the battle while he went to go save his family as well as Gotham.

With the General also being there, Gordon could save his city by zapping the man and short-circuiting the chip in his head. But Gordon couldn’t stroll into City Hall. He made it to Barbara and had no sooner gotten her out restraints when Nyssa revealed herself. She knew that Gordon would come though she never thought he would come alone and so he played right into her hands. He was getting beaten when his friends and allies found a way to derail the military. They bombed Wayne Tower and that huge building dropped killing many in its way. Like the military. They tried to go back in and they couldn’t because the debris acted as a barrier. And so that came as a surprise to Nyssa.

Nyssa was thrown off guard and with Gordon working with Barbara they managed to stab her, but they didn’t kill her. She was left alert and so she enacted the failsafe. Nyssa ordered the General to kill himself. Gordon could no longer use him to reverse the invasion order and Barbara was more concerned about her baby. She ran to go get her and in the confusion, Nyssa was allowed to escape. Gordon was a little lost at first and then he came up with a plan. He took Barbara to the refugees and asked her to go with them down into the subway tunnels. They could take those tunnels until they are behind enemy lines and so Gordon figured out a way to save them if not himself. He was going to stay behind.

A few chose to stay behind as well. Gordon faced down Bane with his friends, his wife, and enemies turned allies. They didn’t raise their guns and they weren’t going to shoot first. The army had to execute them if they wanted to take Gotham and soon a handful of people weren’t alone. Barbara came back with the refugees and altogether they forced Bane’s army to abandon him. The military was full of good people that didn’t see any sense in killing unarmed civilians and so, in the end, there weren’t other people like Bane or Nyssa. Those two wanted to burn down the world because they liked fire and once they lost their greatest asset they were forced to flee. And Gordon was later able to get on the radio with the mainland.

The army was going to repurpose. They now have to help rebuild Gotham and ensure that the people receive aide.

Nyssa meanwhile stole Penguin and Ed’s submarine that had all of their gold.

The guys were once again left with nothing and if anything their recent experience has embittered them to the extent they wanted to be criminals again.

No, more than criminals.

They wanted to be criminal masterminds and they wanted to recreate Gotham in their image!

The guys kept their plans to themselves and to everyone else they seemed rehabilitated. They even went to Gordon’s ceremony when he was officially named Commissioner. Gordon had everyone there and he later got to say goodbye to Bruce before the young man left the city. Bruce felt like his life was too public in Gotham and he wanted to go almost anywhere else. He also didn’t tell Selina he was leaving because he knew she would want to come with him and he that would be too dangerous for her. Bruce has realized that people closest to him were the ones that suffered anytime an enemy of his wanted revenge and so he was cutting ties with everyone. He even left behind Alfred.

THE END!
