The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) will face the most difficult time in her life. She and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) have just lost their baby, Beth Spencer, and they are devastated. The two will have to return to Los Angeles alone, and without the newborn baby that they expected to have.
It will be hard on them both, but Hope will be particularly upset by Beth’s passing. Hope carried Beth and felt her kick, and losing a child in the way that she did would crush any mother.
Plus, Hope may feel as though her own decision to take a “babymoon” trip and leave for Catalina ahead of Liam somehow contributed to the early delivery and death, so she may beat herself up over that.
B&B spoilers say that, in the days to come, the Forrester family will gather to offer support for Hope and Liam. Differences will be put aside, and everyone will come together to help them grieve their loss. This will no doubt be of great comfort to Hope and Liam as they try to process their new reality.
But afterwards, life will go on. And that’s when things may start getting the most difficult for Hope. She’ll have to deal with her baby being gone, and she’ll always wonder what life would have been like had Beth lived.
Plus, she’ll be faced with watching Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) interacting with her own daughter, and this will serve as a constant reminder that Beth is missing from the picture.
It wouldn’t be surprising at all if Hope spirals into a deep depression as a result of Beth’s death. She’ll have been through a great trauma, plus since she’s just given birth she’s at risk for postpartum depression anyway.
It wouldn’t be difficult to imagine Hope breaking down and really having a tough time working through her grief. She may become distant and distracted, both hallmarks of severe depression.
And assuming that Hope does become deeply depressed, what will then happen to her relationship with Liam? The loss of a child is a major stressor in a marriage, and it certainly wouldn’t be the first time that such a loss took its toll on a relationship. We should expect some tough times ahead for these two as they deal with not only their loss, but Hope’s psychological state.
