The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) could be in some big trouble down the line. As B&B viewers know, he’s a sweet boy who made a heroic move when he decided to defy Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and tell the truth about “Phoebe Forrester” being Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez). He brought a lot of happiness to his family when he reunited Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) with their daughter.
But recently, Douglas has been experiencing some difficulties. He returned home early from a playdate with another child because of a stomachache, which turned out to be a physical symptom of anxiety over a secret visit with Thomas. As B&B viewers know, Thomas continues to berate Douglas about defying him and telling about Beth. It really tears Douglas up inside, and he’s worried about his dad being mad at him.
Well, we have to wonder about how this is all going to affect Douglas down the line. Right now, he seems like a pretty happy kid who is thriving while he’s around Hope and Liam. He fits right into their life, and he loves little Beth. When he’s together as part of Hope and Liam’s family, he seems to do well. But he still continually worries about his father.
The good news is that Douglas has seemed to clearly recognize that what his father says and insinuates about him – that he was “bad” for telling the truth – is just plain wrong. That’s a good sign and indicates that Douglas clearly knows right from wrong, but it’s got to be really conflicting for him. After all, he loves his father dearly and there’s surely a big part of him that wants his dad’s approval, even if his dad is sometimes mean to him.
Of course, The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say there’s a custody battle that will be cropping up soon for Douglas. Hope and Liam seem determined to keep Thomas away from Douglas at all costs, which seems to be the right move given how Thomas has been treating his son. Until Thomas lightens up on his kid, being with Hope and Liam is good for Douglas, but Thomas surely won’t think that situation is ideal for the long-term.
B&B buzz is that we could we see Hope and Liam fight for legal custody of Douglas. We think it’s a distinct possibility, but will that cause Douglas even more turmoil? He’s a pretty perceptive little guy, and he might catch on that Hope, Liam, and Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) are actively trying to keep Thomas from him. That could lead Douglas to feel guilty, and/or to think that he’s causing problems for everyone.
Hopefully, things will resolve in a positive way, so that Douglas feels as little psychological discomfort as possible going forward. Nobody wants to see him anxious and suffering stomach aches as a result of things that are totally beyond his control, but it looks like that could continue, as Thomas seems to be his same old manipulating self these days.
