The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for Friday, January 4, tease that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) will be at serious risk as she’s giving birth to baby Beth Spencer on this special 8000th episode of B&B. The episode promises to feature a profound event that will send shockwaves through the Logan, Forrester, Spencer, Avant, and Spectra families.
And that profound event will have everything to do with Hope’s difficult birth on Catalina Island. Hope’s stuck at a remote clinic with Dr. Reese Buckingham (Wayne Brady) in the middle of a power outage, and she’s having a difficult labor. Her contractions have been intense, and she’s exhausted. Reese is doing his best to facilitate a healthy birth, but Hope’s vitals have just dropped and she’s slipped into unconsciousness.
It certainly looks like Hope won’t be awake and alert when Beth is born. That means that she won’t see her newborn baby, nor will she hear her baby cry. And unfortunately, that will provide Reese the opportunity to do the unthinkable. Reese owes a $200,000 gambling debt and needs cash fast, and it looks like he’ll get the bright idea to sell Hope’s new baby for a quick buck.
So, how might all this go down? Well, earlier at the clinic, Reese comforted a fellow member of his medical staff, telling her that “it was not your fault.” Could another newborn baby have died earlier that night? If so, this plus Hope’s period of unconsciousness would provide Reese the opportunity to switch babies and lead Hope to believe that baby Beth died during childbirth.
Of course, Hope will eventually awaken, and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) will eventually reach Hope on the island, after his harrowing helicopter journey. The two will likely demand answers about what went so terribly wrong during the birthing process. Reese will be on the hot seat, and he’ll need to play his cards carefully, especially if he plans on selling little Beth.
It’s difficult to imagine Reese pulling all of this off – convincing Liam and Hope that their baby is gone, while hiding baby Beth somewhere in the clinic. But it’s certainly looking like he may be able to do it. He’ll be highly motivated to pull it off, since he’s got a thug threatening his daughter Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes). Desperate times call for desperate measures, and unfortunately it looks like Hope and Liam will pay the ultimate price.
