The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star is out of the closing credits. B&B airs episodes early in Australia and multiple viewers there are reporting that Karla Mosley (Maya Avant) is no longer listed. It certainly looks like Mosley is now off contract, so many fans are going to have something to say about this.
If The Bold and the Beautiful isn’t going to use Maya, it makes sense to give Mosley the boot and not waste that money. However, that brings us to the question of why B&B hasn’t been using Maya. The Bold and the Beautiful keeps bringing new cast members in instead, which doesn’t make sense when a perfectly good and recently divorced Maya has been waiting for a story.
Speaking of that divorce, that also seems pointless now. The Bold and the Beautiful told a great story of love and acceptance when Maya was revealed as transgender and it didn’t change anything for Rick Forrester (Jacob Young). Rick and Maya became a devoted couple who got a sweet family with a little help from Nicole Avant (Reign Edwards), but B&B destroyed this marriage offscreen.
When Maya returned home, she explained that she couldn’t make it work with Rick. They decided to get a divorce, so B&B wrecked the “Raya” foundation they’d built and broke up Lizzie’s parents. Now that Maya’s apparently just on recurring and isn’t getting a plot of her own, all of that was for nothing.
Of course, The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say things could change. The show may opt to undo the damage now and send Maya offscreen to reunite with Rick. That isn’t much better since it still means no Maya. She could’ve had an excellent storyline with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor), who expressed interest if Maya ever decided Rick wasn’t the man she wanted.
Sadly, it seems we won’t be getting anything like that. It’s disappointing news since fans seem to like Carter and have been rooting for him to get a new story as well. Familiar is typically a good thing on soap, but B&B’s all about fresh faces lately. That’s fine, but it’s coming at the expense of old favorites and that’s a shame.
