The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for Monday, January 7, tease that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) will try to process the loss of their daughter Beth Spencer. Hope’s just awakened to learn from Liam that baby Beth died after a placental abruption, and both parents are absolutely devastated.
The grieving couple won’t be alone at the clinic for long. Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) has arranged for himself, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) to fly to Catalina Island to meet up with Hope and Liam, and to meet baby Beth. They have no idea that Beth has died, and when they arrive and learn what’s happened, they’ll be in complete shock.
According to B&B spoilers, Hope will be in desperate need of her mother’s love and support, and she and Brooke will have an emotional reunion as Brooke tries to comfort her daughter. What should be a happy, hopeful time will instead be a time of mourning and sorrow.
But there will be some serious questions, and possibly even some accusations, leveled at Dr. Reese Buckingham (Wayne Brady). Since Hope was unconscious during the moments when Beth was actually born, Reese is the only person who can attest to what happened.
You can bet that Bill, Brooke, and Ridge will want some answers from Reese. Liam and Hope may be too distraught to ask the right questions at this time, but Bill, Brooke, and Ridge will all have their wits about them. Reese will be on the hot seat as they demand to know just what went wrong during the birth.
And chances are, smooth-talking Reese will have all the right answers. He’ll probably pass off Beth’s death as a textbook placental abruption that couldn’t be anticipated or prevented. This may not entirely satisfy Bill, Brooke, and Ridge, but it’s a story that it looks like they’ll have no choice but to accept.
