Devon returns home to his empty apartment. Meanwhile, a group of people on a nature walk discover Julian’s car in the lake. The police arrive and pull it out. It is empty.
Nic’s sister Jess s getting ready for her first job interview since rehab. AJ and Mina tell Bell they need to pull the defective valves. Bell laughs at them. AJ’s mentor loves the valves. AJ and Mina point out that he is on Gordon’s payroll. Bell cannot believe it. Bell decides that he will look into it but AJ needs to sit the bench for a bit.
Bell meets with Gordon. He tells him that his doctors tested his valves and they are all defective. Bell wants to see the safety on the valves. Gordon points out that he helped Bell when he needed money and how dare he turn around now. He is supposed to be loyal.
Nic’s sister shows up at the hospital. She changed clothes and needs $20 to get to her interview. She’s happy and giddy. It makes Conrad question her sobriety which makes Nic mad.
Conrad meets with a new patient, Eloise. She has CF and needs new lungs. Her parents are overprotective and offer to donate their lobes. She tells them she will be fine.
At the hospital, they all watch the news reports about Julian’s car. Conrad calls Devon. Conrad tries to stay positive. Her body hasn’t been found yet.
Eloise is told she needs a new liver and pancreas as well. A triple transplant is risky, but it can be done. She can get all the organs she needs from her donors. Her parents are sad and worried. Kitt leaves the room with Conrad and breaks down. Conrad knows that AJ could pull it off. They tell him and he is ready but Bell isn’t.
Nic sees some old friends in the lobby. She was friends with their daughter Letty. She asks about her. They bring Nic to Letty who is on a vent after overdosing. She is donating her organs. They talk. The dad admits that he knew Letty was using. Nic freaks and goes home and goes through Jessie’s stuff. Jessie yells at her. Nic finds a bottle of pills. She admits she takes them sometimes. Nic explodes and tells her about Letty. She demands Jessie go to rehab. She refuses. Nic tells her to get out. She is done. She throws the pills. Jessie tries to pick them up frantically.
Devon goes to Julian’s. The landlord hasn’t seen her in a week and her cat is driving her nuts. Devon pretends to be there to pick her up. The landlord gives him the key. He goes through Julian’s things as he feeds her cat.
Eloise live streams Conrad performing a procedure. AJ and Mina arrive to talk to her about the transplant. Eloise gets excited over AJ. Mina rolls her eyes.
Conrad and Kitt meet with Bell and the board about the transplant. They become deadlocked. Bell is the deciding vote. Bell tells them yes.
AJ, Bell and Mina suit up for the surgery. After they look at Letty’s organs they determine that her lungs are bad but she has a healthy pancreas and liver. Bell tells them they are done. Conrad tells them to save what they can he plans to use the lobes of the parents. They get to work. One of the surgeon’s punctures the mother’s pulmonary artery. Aj has to come in and help but Bell insists her can take over. AJ and Mina finish up on Eloise. It is a success! AJ heads to finish up on the mom.
After the surgery, Eloise is great and so is her father. Her mothers on the vent but she will recover.
Bell tells Gordon he has pulled his valves from Chastain. Gordon tells him he will regret it. Meanwhile, Devon calls the numbers off of Julian’s phone bill he stole from her apartment. A rep for the FDA answers. He heads to tell Nic and Conrad. Devon tells them that she might have been trying to blow the whistle.
