On tonight’s The Resident season 3 episode 8, “Peking Duck Day” as per the FOX synopsis, “Upon dubbing Thanksgiving “the most dangerous day of the year,” Devon and Irving are inundated with patients in the ER. When an A-list celebrity enters the hospital after swallowing a wishbone, Logan Kim assigns a new surgeon to the case in the hopes of garnering extra publicity.
Meanwhile, tensions run high at the Raptor home when he hosts his biological and adoptive families for a Thanksgiving dinner and Kyle interrupts Nic and Conrad’s low-key plans.”

Irving and Devon are in the ED for Thanksgiving. There has already been a dozen turkey-related incidents with more to come. Meanwhile, bell and Mina are in the OR. Mina is thrilled to be in the OR on Thanksgiving, Bell lets her wrap up their surgery.
AJ is trying to carefully select the music for Thanksgiving. His biological parents and his biological brothers are coming to his parent’s home for the holiday. Nic and Conrad are going to have a sexy, casual Thanksgiving of taking out, alone time in movies. Nic’s father shows up with a female friend as a surprise. His female friend is half his age but he assures Nic that they are only platonic. It is her first Thanksgiving drug-free.
A famous singer comes into the ED with throat issues. Devon and Irving get to meet with him. Irving leaves to spend a little time with Jessica who is still in the hospital right down the hall from him.
Bell and Mina look over an x-ray for the famous singer. It looks like he swallowed a wishbone hole. The only way to get it out is to remove it surgically. Mr. Kim from Red Rock demands Bell hand surgery over to one of his new surgeons. Bell believes this is too risky to let a newbie perform. But Dr. Kim overrides him.
Conrad and Nic’s neighbor comes over with his sick boy. He asks Conrad to take a look at him since his cardiologist isn’t calling them back. He’s worried.
Back at AJ’s house, things are a little awkward. He has nothing in common with his brothers who both wonder why they are having duck for Thanksgiving. AJ tells them that it is his father’s most revered dish from his homeland. Meanwhile, Conrad thinks it’s best to bring his neighbor’s son to the ED. Something isn’t right. He calls AJ on his way who quickly leaves his family to deal with each other.
Irving and Devon try to help a woman who has a pair of prongs sticking through her hand. AJ arrives in the ED feeling like himself again. He takes a deep breath before smiling wide. Conrad arrives with the boy. His heart in Atrial Flutter but AJ brings him back to normal sinus rhythm.
After the young boy, Tommy is stable, AJ tells Conrad they will need to perform surgery today on his heart. Conrad wonders if it can wait. Following the famous singer’s surgery, Devon comes in to find him in septic shock. Against Mr. Kim’s wishes, Devon takes him for a CT.
Nic is dealing with her father. His friend Sadie stole her jewelry before taking pills and running out of the house. Nic tells her dad that he still upset about Jesse and trying to transfer over his focus to this woman. He should just let her go.
Bell gets one up on Mr. Kim when he reveals he is the only one that knows how to correct the famous singers’ septic shock. Kim asked Bell politely to do the surgery. Bell accepts with a smile.
AJ and Mina are in the OR working on the little boy Tommy when his heart goes into the VTac.
Later, AJ and Conrad watch over Tommy. His surgery was a success. AJ is finally ready to go home.
Just when Devon and Irving think the night of Thanksgiving injuries are over they receive a man with a reindeer decoration impaled in his leg. Bell and Kim’s new surgeon end up bonding in the OR.
Irving brings Jessica to a Thanksgiving celebration in the break room. She is thrilled since she can’t be with her family and has cabin fever. They sit to watch some football, Jessica’s favorite.
Nic and Kyle eat together while they remember the good times. Life isn’t what it should be, Kyle tells her.
Mr. Kim tries to talk to Bell who brushes him off. It’s Thanksgiving.
AJ comes home to see his brothers left. He talks them into staying for a beer. They head inside to find the rest of the family laughing and having fun.
Conrad comes home to see Nic who sighs deep. It’s her first holiday without her sister. She talks about how she was a slob before crying. She misses her so much. Meanwhile, Kyle sits alone watching old home videos of Jesse.
