The first contestant this evening is 17-years-old, Celia Babini from New York. She is singing, “Don’t Wanna Be You Anymore” by Billie Eilish. All four chairs turn around.

Judges Comments: John: “You have such a power, your range, your storytelling, you started with an Adele vibe and you are going to be like nobody else in the competition.” Blake: “I heard those cowboy boots. Your performance was literally captivating and I know that I am the odd man out, but I hit my button because you are a champ. I believe in you, I think you are incredible. My cat died today and if you picked me that would help pick me up, lol.” Kelly: “I literally tweeted about this song, I love this song.” Adam: “It is my dream for you to win The Voice, it is just time for somebody to be a different type of singer right now. You are the future as far as I am concerned.” Celia picks Team Adam

Next is 16-year-old Cecily Hennigan from South Carolina and she is singing, “Foolish Games” by Jewel. Blake turns around.

Judges Comments: Adam: “I think you are awesome and I have nothing to say for myself, I am ashamed.” John: “You voice is like developed beyond your years. The main thing for you is to continue showcasing that powerful instrument that you have and you are going to do great on this show.” Kelly: “I am so interested on how you know that song. I was like 16 when it came out. I can’t wait to see what Blake does with you.” Blake: “I thought that was too legit. I don’t think you know what you are capable of vocally, I know you can blow the roof of this house.” Cecily joins Team Blake

Kalvin Jarvis is 29 years old from Tuscon, Arizona and he is singing “A Good Night” by John Legend. Kelly and Adam turn their chairs.

Judges Comments: Kelly: “You are so good, your runs flowed, it was sexy. I loved your lows as well.” John: “You performed my song, I think you did a fantastic job.” Adam: “You are ridiculous, it was kind of overwhelming. John was dancing and enjoying himself.” Blake: “Congratulations, when John didn’t hit the button for his song, it threw me for a loop.” Kalvin picks Team Adam

Ava August is 13 years old from California, she is singing, “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals. None of the judges turn their chairs.

Judges Comments: John: “That was crazy cool now that I know you are 13.” John: “I’m mad too. Your voice is so powerful, you have so much control and range, I think you just need to refine how you use your instrument so you sound like you.” Adam: “I thought there were issues with over-styling things, it is incredible where you are, but hone in on where you want to be.”

David Owens is 24 years old from Indiana, he is singing “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” by Bonnie Raitt. Kelly turns her chair.

Judges Comments: John: “I may have been too nit picky in not turning around. You are an excellent singer and you are on The Voice, so welcome.” Kelly: “I’ve sang that song before, I know the message and the gravity. The fact that you are a man and did a whole different twist on it than Bonnie Raitt, that is what is going to make you stand out in the competition. And I’m so glad you are on my team.” David joins Team Kelly

Presley Tennant is 16 years old from California, she is singing “Stone Cold” By Demi Lovato. Kelly turns her chair.

Judges Comments: Kelly: “That was Demi Lovato, that is a huge range. Having that low is insane, I am so excited that the other judges didn’t turn.” John: “I think you picked a difficult song and you were incredible. Kelly will coach you to superstardom I am sure.” Presley joins Team Kelly

Rod Stokes is 34 years old from Alabama, he is singing “To Love Somebody” by the BeeGees. Adam, John, and Blake turn their chairs.

Judges Comments: Adam: “I don’t know what took the other judges so long, you have something special and it jumped out at me right away. When I turned around, I got to see what you do as well, I was blown away. You have something that is a God-given natural ability to deliver a vocal in that way. I want to be a part of this.” Blake: “Your voice was shocking. it’s got personality, its got depth, it fills the room. I loved how it shreds when you go for the bigger notes. I’ve got one spot left on my team and I would be honored if you would complete it.” Rod picks Team Blake

Calista Garcia is from Virginia and she sings “Wishing Well by Sananda Maitreya. None of the judges turn their chairs.

Judges Comments: Adam: “I love that you did that song and you put your own spin on it, which is really cool. There was a looseness to what you did and I really thought worked for you and against you at times.” John: “You really have a powerful voice, you have great taste, you did a cool version and you are great.” Kelly: “If you had just reigned it in a bit, you would have had a chair turned.”

Andrew Jannakos sings “Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Combs. Kelly and Adam turn their chairs.

Judges Comments: Kelly: “I love the fact that your voice almost sounds like old school country, but then I turned around and I was like, I am so happy that I can have a chance to have you on my team.” Adam: “I love your presence, your voice is genuinely rich, deep, and beautiful. I have no country singers on my team.” Andrew picks Team Adam

Kayslin Victoria is 16 years old from Florida, she is singing, “Feel It Still: by Portugal, The Man. Kelly and John turn their chairs.

Judges Comments: John: “You are outstanding. I turned my chair around pretty fast and I was dancing with you, I have one more place on my team and I was imagining how excited I would be to have you fill the last spot.” Adam: “I would have pressed my button, but my team is full.” Kelly: “I love you. The thing that excited me most is that you felt confident. Most people are nervous, and I love that you just came out here and had a good time.” Kayslin picks Team John.

Maddi Frasier is 24 years old from California, she is singing “Get It While You Can” by Janis Joplin. Kelly doesn’t turn her chair and she is the last one who has to fill her team.

Judges Comments: Kelly: “I love that rock, kind of Janis thing, the only reason I didn’t turn is that I heard a few pitches. I didn’t know if it was nerves, or if you didn’t hear it. I didn’t think you would be a good fit for me.”

Jackson Marlow is 18 years old from Alabama singing “Troubadour” by George Strait. Kelly turns her chair.

Judges Comments: Kelly: “I had to completely wait for everyone to fill up so I could get my country, I am so excited that you are on my team.”
