The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that fan wars are heating up over Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) love life. In an Instagram post, Mealor shared a fun promo pic of himself along with Hunter King (Summer Newman) and Sasha Calle (Lola Rosales). He added the caption, “Trouble waiting to happen…”
Mealor shared the link on Twitter and asked viewers to let him know if they were on “Team #skyle” or “Team #kola.” As you can imagine, the passionate comments poured in! Mealor got over four hundred replies from fans who are either rooting for Kyle and Summer’s marriage to last or hoping he’ll dump Summer for Lola.
“Team #Skyle,” said one Y&R watcher. “I love Kyle the bad boy & he can’t be that w/Lola.” Another fan said, “Kola has had their problems but Summer is such a witch. I vote for Kola hands down.” Some fans even found themselves caught in the middle. “Team #Skyle…but I have a little soft spot for Kola too,” admitted one slightly torn viewer.
It’s certainly an interesting love triangle since Lola and Summer couldn’t be more different. They both have their pros and cons, so let’s examine them. First, we have the very driven and delightful Lola. She’s got spunk and there’s a definite spark with Kyle. Unfortunately, Lola was a pretty lousy girlfriend. She never truly appreciated Kyle, who put his heart into the relationship and never got much in return.
Next, we have Summer. She doesn’t judge Kyle for his flaws and would never try to change him. Summer certainly appreciates her relationship and intends to give Kyle her full attention, which is something Lola never did. Of course, the issue is that Kyle is still in love with Lola and Summer’s forcing him into this. Lola would’ve died without that liver transplant, so Summer’s move was awfully cruel.
Summer had a lot in common with the old Kyle, but he’s been trying to be a better man for Lola’s sake. However, that same goal will likely lead him to stand by Summer after her sacrifice. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Summer will have a hard time waking up after the surgery, so that’ll reinforce guilty Kyle’s commitment.
