The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) could prove useful to one Genoa City resident. Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) partner at the Grand Phoenix is proving problematic. She hated cutting Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) back into her deal with Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan), but she really had no choice.
However, Phyllis’ latest scheme could cause Abby to retaliate. Perhaps she’ll seek a different kind of partner – one who’s skilled in manipulating people and could help her pull this off. Theo has been doing his best to charm Abby lately. Unfortunately, he gets shot down at every turn. Theo’s angle just isn’t working for him, but that could change thanks to Phyllis.
Y&R fans know Theo rarely passes up an opportunity to cause trouble. No one’s buying the new-and-improved version he’s trying to sell. It seems like Theo’s just getting smarter about how he plays the game. Theo’s been driving Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) crazy for months and now he suddenly wants to make amends. He’s also being surprisingly cool about Kyle and Summer’s growing bond.
Skyle’s New Connection May Help Theo Land In Lola Abbott’s Bed
That could be because “Skyle’s” connection will help his ultimate goal of landing in Lola Abbott’s (Sasha Calle) bed. As for this “I miss my bro” stuff, it may be one big charade. Theo could be reeling everyone in for his eventual blow. With that in mind, Theo’s probably just stringing Summer along as usual right now. In other words, he won’t care if he hurts Summer by targeting her mother.
Abby was pleased by Theo’s work before the Grand Phoenix opening. That party turned into a disaster thanks to Zoe Hardisty (Anna Grace Barlow), but it wasn’t entirely Theo’s fault. Zoe wouldn’t have been there if it hadn’t been for Theo, but it’s not like he drugged the Grand Sangrias himself. He actually had to handle his own career crisis because of Zoe, so he paid the price, too.
Abby would likely see the value in working with Theo to take down Phyllis. After all, there must be some reason Y&R’s putting Theo in Abby’s orbit – and it may not be a romantic one. The Young and the Restless buzz suggests Theo could potentially be related to Abby. Word has it this Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) and Stuart Brooks storyline could end with Theo being her grandson.
Summer Newman May Finally Cut Ties With Theo Vanderway
If that’s the case, Theo and Abby won’t be paired up. It makes sense for them to be scheming partners instead, especially if Phyllis pushes Abby to her limit. As a bonus, this could be what finally convinces Summer to cut ties with Theo.
If Theo goes behind Summer’s back and takes her mom down, she may decide he’s never going to change. Phyllis’ destruction or at least attempted destruction could be a deal-breaker.
