The Young and the Restless spoilers has some news to pass on about a popular Y&R star. Beth Maitland, who portrays Traci Abbott on the CBS soap, recently had some encouraging words for her fans and for women in general. Her comments were in response to a Twitter debate between a troll who had some not-so-nice things to say about Beth’s character Traci and the storyline involving Traci and Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard).
After some disparaging comments from a Twitter troll who doesn’t care for Traci’s current storyline and seemed to blur the lines between Beth and the character she portrays, another Twitter user named Lisa came to Beth’s defense, calling the troll out on her comments and her decision to tag Beth when making those comments.
Beth then replied to set the record straight. She tweeted: “I respect everyone’s right to their opinion. I respect tolerance, kindness, an open mind, and acceptance. I don’t respect meanness so much. Thanks, Lisa for returning us to reality. I do what they write. I’m an actor. And I LOVE representing real women with true hearts. Xxx #real.”
Lisa then replied back to Beth, explaining that she wished she could have deleted the troll’s entire thread to spare Beth from the person’s disparaging comments, and saying that she wants to celebrate Beth as many of her fans do. Beth then replied by saying: “I DO feel celebrated. Thank you and no worries!! I was tweeting the above to thank you. XX”
It’s great to see a fan coming to Beth’s defense and lifting her up after someone tried so hard to tear her down. And it’s great to see Beth responding with kindness and not letting the troll’s negativity make an impact. It’s safe to say that most fans don’t respect or agree with internet trolls who seem to enjoy spreading negativity.
In fact, many fans have tweeted support for Beth in response to the exchange, and their words are encouraging and supportive. One fan wrote: “Love you, Beth! Putting others down is a sign of their own insecurities. You rock as Traci and have always been a favorite of mine.” And another wrote: “I think Traci is lovely and I’m looking forward to Traci and Cane and I say go girl.”
Thankfully, the story has a good ending and fans have shown their overwhelming support of Beth and her character Traci. We look forward to more of Traci on our screens, and we’re excited to see where the Traci/Cane storyline goes. Stay tuned to the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates, and news.
