The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the Newman war will rage on, but it could have some unanticipated consequences. We should remember what convinced Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to do something as extreme as messing with his dad’s meds. Adam believes Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was behind the incident on route 7. He made up his mind that Victor ordered someone to run him down.
To be fair, Victor has definitely struck some low blows in the past. He’s proven that when the war is on, he can fight with the best of them. Victor made sure Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) scored her freedom from a mental institution. He used her to target his son, which let to Adam being framed for Constance Bingham’s murder – one that he obviously didn’t commit.
Then we’ve got Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), who’s been set up by Adam. It’s tough to have too much sympathy considering Victoria threatened to pin J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) murder on Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). Victoria even let her lawyer, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), accuse Tessa of that murder (which wasn’t even a murder at all) in court.
The same goes for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), who knew she was the one who bashed J.T. in the head to protect Victoria. The Newmans have consistently proven they can all play dirty. It’s wild that they’re portrayed as victims while Adam’s become the big bad wolf. Maybe the rest of the family’s just facing a good dose of karma. Although Adam deserves some karma as well, none of these people are innocent little lambs.
Y&R fans know Adam’s wrong about who tried to run him down, but he’s not wrong about someone trying to kill him. He almost ended up dead after Billy tried to plow into him with his car. That was an attempted murder, and it was in retaliation for an ACCIDENT. Adam never meant to harm Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) in any way.
Perhaps Billy’s actions could be Adam’s ticket out of this trap. Will he figure out who actually tried to kill him and use it as leverage? Victoria would be devastated if Billy went to prison for that. A solid attorney might get Billy off the hook with a temporary insanity defense, but there are no guarantees on The Young and the Restless.
If Adam goes down, he might vow to take Billy down with him. Will Billy’s crime come back to haunt him? Could that bring a stalemate and possibly end this round of the Newman battle? The Young and the Restless spoilers say some hot drama’s ahead no matter what. We’ll give you updates as other Y&R news comes in.
