The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) is in for a big shock when she hears a stunning secret. As Y&R viewers know, Jill has been trying to help Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) determine exactly who is behind the out-of-the-blue challenge to Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) will. Ever since Devon received word that the will was being contested, it’s been a mystery as to who could be behind the whole thing.
Then Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) showed up at Devon’s door, totally taking him aback. Since she looks just like Devon’s ex-wife, Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan), it really seems like someone is playing an awful trick on Devon and/or trying to rattle him for some reason. But Devon has had zero luck trying to find out who’s trying to contest Katherine’s will. Amanda claims Chance Chancellor (John Driscoll) is behind it, but then she accidentally dropped a hint that it might not be Chance.
As Y&R viewers will remember, Amanda told Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) that she never should have let “that old jerk” get her involved in this matter. Since that doesn’t aptly describe Chance, Devon figured that her client must be someone else who’s older and a bit rough around the edges. And that sounds a lot like another Y&R character who’s been off canvas for a while but who could have an axe to grind with Devon…Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers).
As Y&R viewers will remember, Colin has certainly had it in for Devon in the past. He blackmailed Devon over his affair with Hilary back when Hilary and Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) were married. And Colin certainly has been involved with his share of shady and downright illegal activities in the past. It would be just like him to be involved with some scam over Katherine’s will, and to ship a Hilary lookalike straight to Devon’s door.
But what would be Colin’s motive for doing all of this? Money could certainly be part of it – it’s always possible that he’s somehow in cahoots with Chance to help him secure Devon’s fortune, with Colin getting a cut for his efforts. But then again, Devon recently revealed that the statute of limitations for challenging Katherine’s will had passed, so it seems that Colin would have known this going into the scam. Could there be another motivation – possibly to mess with Devon for some reason?
Time will tell, but what has gone down with Cane Ashby’s (Daniel Goddard) role in all of this meshes with Colin being the mastermind behind the whole thing. It would make sense that if Colin were pulling the strings, then Cane would be named as the recipient of Katherine’s fortune, since he’s Colin’s son. It would also be just like Colin to capture Cane by force in Las Vegas – Y&R viewers will remember that Cane was knocked unconscious and abducted after he started asking questions about Chance.
We’ll see what ends up happening with this storyline, but it certainly seems that Colin could be behind the weird goings-on. He could definitely be the “old jerk” that Amanda was referring to, and it would make sense that Jill would be totally shocked to find out that he was behind it.
